No that just means Premium members get them before people who buy them separately do.

no, this means when you buy pass, you can play new maps but who buys battlefield 1 won't able to play those maps.

While I agree, BF4 had a shit ton of content that completely shit on other season passes (COD)

I did not buy BF4 premium, I did get it via EA ACCESS, but I'm tempted to pull the trigger, BF is the type of game I play all year.

I don't see the point in paying for the premium pass outfront until there's maps you know you want to play. There's always time to see if it'll be offered at a discount. I'm still waiting for Battlefront premium pass to be discounted, and I know I'm gonna want to play some of that Death Star DLC when that releases, hopefully around time of the holiday digital sales.

I put over 200 hours into BF4 with friends. It was easily worth the money for me.

Have those premium passes ever been worth it? I'm out before the first expansion arrives in these games. And with BF4 I recall not being interested in every expansion at all, and it being cheaper to buy the ones I would want.

Unlocking new weapons and items already goes way too fast in BF games.

A $130 for the ultimate edition, that's almost twice as it was for Hardline.

You could limit your game to the 1%. Sell high... I mean premium priced personalized DLC. Could work. Like an exclusive club for frauds, executives, sheiks, mobsters, royalty and corrupt politicians to shoot at each other.

Yeah no thanks.

I got the game already through cdkeys, but I'm pretty sure it was the regular version since it was like 30 bucks or something.

Bummer. When Bad Company 2 came out, you got map packs for buying the game day one. Think the only one that was a separate purchase was Vietnam. Now that these season passes are trending, its become a freight train that's showing no signs of stopping. To be fair though, with rising developer costs. This season pass outlet may be what's helping to keep prices of games from rising above the standard $60 dollars (and subsequent sales). At least for games that are not low budget titles.

Although there's no way I'm going to pay $50 bucks for a season pass. And I'm currently waiting for the Star Wars Battlefront season pass to go on sale again now that I got the game. But I also don't even play DLC missions from the discounted ultimate/goty editions I've brought such as Shadow of Mordor. So I'm growing even more fine with just having the standard version for most games.

They'll eventually release the DLC maps for free, like the way they're doing with BF4

these premium passes are so bad because they divide the playerbase, especially because you can't join a server with DLC maps in rotation even if they aren't being played.

so, the main thing they achieve with these DLC packs is to make it harder to find a server for literally everyone. I wish they would return to the old-style of BF expansion like Vietnam for Bad Company 2

Maps should be free and just bank money off of microtransactions. Seems a bit much (greedy)with paid dlc and also microtransactions in the Battlefield Series. Anywho, ill be fine with the base game and wait out until the dlc is free.

As a developer myself, these guys are lazy asshats. EA has developed a cookie cutter formula method for their games now and they're just recycling ideas, level designs and assets over and over.

Obviously they are in this to cash in, the level of ingenuity is embarrassing and the level of hollow gameplay is saddening. They hire fancy artists to create Hollywood looking skyboxes and high res textures that they can slap on to their old crapass game design. It's obvious they have a formula and give zero shits about quality. Since BF3 it's been crap.

Oh look 2016 time to rebrand this cash cow as ww1, Star Wars was good but time to change it up to fool those suckers. New project; import assets, load new meshes, add new visual fx, switch a few more assets, sell the deluxe edition comprised of recycled assets from last year. Profit, laugh at the fools.

For the record, Battlefield 1942 was a far superior game than anything Dice made in a decade.

History of the season pass:

30 > 40 > 50

and meanwhile the quality of the content keeps decreasing. Yeah, pass !

BWHAHAHAHA! Oh you EA! Only you and perhaps Konami could be so asinine in your approach to modern gaming.
