Batman: Return to Akrham announced, July 27th (PS4/Xbone)

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced Batman: Return to Arkham. The new title bundles Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, two of the most critically acclaimed videogames on the last generation of gaming consoles. Both are being remastered for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One using Unreal Engine 4, a first for the award winning Batman: Arkham series. Remastered by Virtuos, this set offers fans a chance to play the first two Batman: Arkham titles including all Game of the Year edition bonus and downloadable content from both games, now with improved graphics, as well as upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders. Batman: Return to Arkham will be available beginning July 29 for a suggested retail price of £39.99.

I will pass. Already played Arkham Asylum twice and still own a digital copy of City. I like that they're remastered using Unreal Engine 4, but it's not enough to push me to purchase.

Arkham Asylum is great, Arkham City.... Not so much.

Arkham Asylum was excellent...Arkham City was bigger with higher production values but...it felt a little emptier and unmemorable...maybe it feels a bit too "gamey" with too many things to do just for the sake of content...

But yeah, these remasters thingie is getting a bit out of hand. Games are not THAT old.

I'm pretty much done with remasters, I have enough games to play and enjoy so I'll just be on those.

It doesn't look like a significant overhaul tbh , that's why i guess they ain't gonna release it on PC.

I'd get it again for City, didn't care too much for Asylum, though maybe that could change with this. I'll see how it turns out.

Origins not being here is bullshit, that's a good game. Hell, I even like Blackgate.

No interest in replaying Asylum, but I got City on sale for 10$ for my 360, barely played, It....hoping one day it comes to XOne BC, but I'm not in a hurry as I have the latest Batman game and didn't finish that one yet. Passing on this bundle for sure

40GBP? That's equivalent to what? Like $60 USD? As much as I want this, no more than $40 for me. I probably won't have to wait long though. I would pay $60 though if they threw Origins in on it though, maybe that'll come later as add-on DLC, after all they have to pitch it as the 92/96 metacritic collection.

Lol thought it was a new game from WB Montrael who owned Rocksteady's Arkham Knight with Arkham Origins.

They can piss off with this, couldn't give a shit. Arkham Origins is better than Asylum anyway. Detective mode was almost game ruining in that. It revealed so much it practically played the game for you.

Asylum would have been one of the best games ever with secrets without the heavy handed detective mode. So disappointed about what it could have been like.

Remastered using UE4? That sounds promising but those visuals looked nowhere near Arkham Knight.

Garbage games but remastered in a new engine is cool. If all remasters were like that (implying it looks significantly better), they wouldn't bother me as much as they do currently.

It's a good reason for me to play them again and now having Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight under one console is a dream come true! I wish Naughty Dog did that with Uncharted collection instead of that fake RE-HD crap they gave us.

@Sweetbackhair: @acp_45: I feel like the batman games play better when they're more linear. Arkham City suffers from an empty open world. Arkham Asylum has more surprises and I enjoyed the boss battles a lot more on Asylum. I just think Asylum is more fun, I think a lot of it comes from open world vs linear.

Love both games but I have a huge backlog of games I haven't played yet.

Still need to play Origins. Might pick it up if can be found for cheap.

I might get this. However after City came out and made Asylum completely irrelevant, I can't see myself playing the first game again.

I still consider Arkham City a huge step forward for action adventure games. It was just top in class in just about every aspect.

Both games shit all over Arkham Knight, but I already own and played a reasonable amount of them on PC.

Will the ps4 remaster look or play any better than the PC or are they going to just be PC ports?

I think Origins is a bad game, but the lack of its inclusion in this package still sucks.

Might get it when it goes on sale, enjoyed my time with them when they first came out.

I get what you're saying. But don't you think that seeing Arkham City as a sandbox rather than an open world helps a bit ? I mean it wasn't anything close to big. One could reach the other end of the map in 2 and a half minutes. It wasn't trying to be open world either imo...but just add options of approach to everything.

If you had more fun with Asylum then cool. Asylum was a nice surprise back then for gaming and I certainly have it in high regard.

You're speculating. There have been instances were "remasters" still did not beat the PC version. This is just milking, BC would have been better for the actual gamers.

Also by your logic, almost every multiplat should not be "passed" on version PC since they all look better.

@acp_45: Yeah sandbox is a good term, but regardless I felt it empty, it was just kinda boring to me, Arkham Asylum had a lot of magic I feel city lost. Arkham City is a good game mechanically and technically speaking, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
