I'm pretty sure hype for this game was set at AA the second it was announced Rocksteady wasn't developing.
Still going to be a great game that is definitely worth playing, especially for me because I loved the Arkham games and am a huge Batman fan. And, of course, the PC version will be fantastic just like the last two.
How is that being "Mc Shea'd"? They thought certain elements weren't as good as previous games and gave it a great score despite a few flaws, what's the problem???
i'm still expecting a cutscene-driven game with button mashing combat and dlc's to milk customers.
aka ill get the GOTY edition on steam for $10 in a year or two
The DLC thing I can understand thanks to Arkham City, but nothing I have seen of Origins leads me to believe it's "cutscene-driven."
Are you saying Asylum and City were cutscene-driven? lul

absolutely
That's not a bad review whatsoever. Not every single outlet is gonna give the game a 9 or 10. Hell, if I was reviewing the game, I'd probably set a cap of 8.5 for the sole reason that it doesn't seem to drastically improve/differ from Arkham City.
too bad Mark Hamill is no longer doing joker's voice. we'll see how troy baker does.
that dude is the new Nolan North
@with_teeth26:
I would give him a bit more credit, he doesn't sound exactly the same in every roll he does. You can't really tell right off it's the same guy between Booker, Joel and Joker.

6.0
ouch
lol
As I said before, gonna wait till Rocksteadys silver age Batman game, silver age Batman + Rocksteady = Day -1
The real question is why do people even care about GS reviews?
Their reviews are as bad as the sites redesign, I'd honestly rather read/go with a review from Kotaku than this sites pos reviewers, the sad thing is Kotaku is one of the worst sites out their that gives reviews and GS is slowly catching up to them. When ever I hear Kevin,Carolyn or Tom is doing a review I just laugh.
So, the game is getting knocked so hard for not pushing the series forward in any meaningful way?
That's fine with me, never expected anything more, I'm just here for more Batman... though I wonder, does this score means GS will be less forgiving for games like CoD, BF, and all of those sports games?
I have no problems with them being more harsh... as long as the reviews are sensibly written, and scores consistent.
Anyways, no regrets on my pre-order, can't wait to play... hopefully, will get to it later today.
Looks like a solid entry. I'll definitely pick it up at some point.
Aye, been playing it through the night. Great game so far.

Thank god the game finally focuses on people other than the joker. Such an overrated character.
A bunch of unfamiliar characters to the more mainstream audience (like Black Mask and and Shiva) are far more interesting than simply focusing on him again, and again, and again, and again.
As per usual lately the GS score is really questionable. 6/10 for not pushing the franchise forward enough? That's cool as long as you slate CoD Ghosts and BF4 too as well as other yearly games.
Sesslers review is as always a much more reliable barometer for quality. He admits too it's not innovative but says that thw writing and story is the best in the series
Rev3games review - 4/5

I haven't played it yet, but I was watching my friend play it on his PC while I was pokemon battling another friend. It looks pretty amazing, just from the first hour I'd say it looks as good maybe sightly a "lesser" version of Arkham City and a lot better than Asylum. Also seeing Deathstroke in action is pretty badass.
It got McShea'd by someone other than McShea. Makes sense. Or the game could just be average like every reviewing site is saying.
Does tom not like games anymore?
He's edgy. It's kewl to give good games shit scores and bad two souls games high scores.
That man will make a name for himself. Probably not the name he wants to be called but it's a name, for sure.

Sessler genuinely enjoys videogames though. That makes him a very casual reviewer.
