HELL YEAH, another port. For like the billionth time for Resident Evil 4. Game is still fucking fantastic. I mean I guess so long as you like good things. I mean I guess there are crazy people that thought the original RE games were good and "scary". You know if you sleep with a night light on maybe. Otherwise game is action gaming bliss(notice how I have no delusion of pretending Resident Evil 4 was a horror game? spare me the herpa derp folks).

Now because I need to type something less flattering, and more "System wars material, because graphics threads those are awesome"(fucking stevo).

Anyway is this going to be a common trend among triple A devs/pubs that just won't go away at this point. I love RE 4 as much as the next sane human being that can appreciate an excellent action game, hell I love tons of stuff from the PS2 era. But have some of these companies(especially Japanese publishers) become too dependent on just reporting their games? Because Square almost does it religiously. Konami has been doing a lot of it. And Capcom well, they are Capcom. I mean depending on your camp you might like the Nintendo method more where they call their port jobs "sequels", but you know there is a little bit of lazyness to this.

I'd rather have the next big thing than Resident Evil 4...again...as I've already bought the game. Like we've added the ability to move n shoot now. Surely we can do more with an action game a whole 9 years after that game came out Capcom.

I already own Resi 4 on PS2, Wii and 360. Not buying it again.

In general I have no problem with ports/HD collections BUT. Not at the cost of new games.

I mean I don't give a shit if Rockstar rerelease the PS2 GTA games in a HD collection, hell I'd buy it. But only if it doesn't interfere with the likes of GTA5 and Red Dead Revolution.

With Japanese devs it seems like endless ports and remakes DO interfere with making new awesome games, very much so in fact.

Hopefully steam bound and finally a fucking PC version I can buy of this timeless classic.

capcom is just like Square-Enix. They release their popular games as often as they can in an attempt to milk the shit out of it. The game is good, but give it a rest. It's been re-released all over again since 2006 with minor adjustments.

Game's amazing. I still play a game of Mercenaries every once in a while.

That being said, I play the original Gamecube version. All these rereleases do in fact come off as kind of cash grabby, which is a shame to me, because it almost undermines the greatness of the game.

And for people saying move and shoot, I think that the way the enemies behave in the game allow for the lack of moving and shooting. In RE5 it was an issue because the enemies were so mobile but in RE4 it's not as big a deal.

I bought the PC version a few months back and it's just horrendous. Bad controls and issues with changing settings everywhere. Mods kinda saved parts but it was a terrible port.This could be just what I need

I think the only thing that has aed poorly over time has been the controls. Otherwise the action, pacing, the high and low points, the puzzles and everything else has just still held up till this day. I mean RE4 makes some of last gens games look like ass.

I played too much RE4 back on the PS2 for this to interest me really. It's just really boring now.

I hope this means there is a chance for Code Veronica(+ perhaps the old 3) to head to the PC(Steam) Code Veronica is my favourite Resident Evil and sadly I couldn't play the 360/PS3 HD version as I no longer had a console :(

While I still think the RE4 is the best one, the RE franchise has been dead to me since the release of RE6.

Because the PC version sucks ass, and requires modding heavily to function properly and look good. So a good PC port is more than welcome, this is one 'HD' release that i wouldn't mind getting into.
