But I was told that Xbox Series exclusives were going to show the TRUE graphical advantage over PS5 since MS ditched Xbox One for it's titles this year. Yet, they still look like straight up Xbox One games...

2 shots are from State of Decay 2 and the other 2 are from Xbox Series console exclusive Red Fall, I wouldn't be mad at you if you mixed up one for the other.

That's where this lil cherry pick example falls apart for you. PS5 has shown multiple examples of games with not just great graphics, but graphics that are better than ANYTHING on any other system including PC over multiple years of the generation now.

Every graphics & tech analyst from the start of this generation have all agreed that PS5 has produced the best graphics of any other platform.

Forza dumps on GT7 graphically. No replay mode shots will change that.

Except, it doesn't. You could argue it's a bit better, but then again GT7 is a cross-gen PS4 title aswell.

Car game graphics in general are nothing to brag about because every car game graphics look good and very similar. If that's the only example people can drum up then they really don't have anything to stand on.

The very realistic gameplay, is what fucked on the gameplay. And yes Forza is better graphically.

As a PS5 and Series X owner, Forza Motorsports looks amazing. It looks leaps and bounds better than GT7. This comes from someone who has been playing GT7 pretty much daily.

Redfall looks good graphically. Really clean looking. The gameplay just looked a bit slow in the trailer. I also haven't watched the entire preview. I can try it day 1 with my GP sub, so even if I don't like it, nothing is lost. Arkane is one of my favorite developers, so I trust it will be a good game.

Playstation Studios has some of the most talents game designers and engineers out there, especially on the graphics front. They know how to get the most out of the machine they are working with. Much respect to them, but MS studios have brought in some serious talent, and I am excited to see what they have in store for us.

Luckily for me, there is so much more that is important to me than just the graphics of a game. Gameplay is by far the most important aspect of any game for me. I personally hope every game turns out amazing. I want more quality games to play.

I'm currently playing god of war Ragnaroks and it doesn't look as good as gears 5 series x version,plus gears had better environments,crumbling buildings and such,I also played days gone and gears Shat on that too.

Once I finish Ragnarok I'm jumping into forgotten west,I'll report back if Sony have anything looking as good as gears,they don't have nothing matching FH5 and that's simple facts

You mean in terms you understand? You're the one who apparently needs to told the reason why it matters here since you asked, I'll try to make it simple as possible.

All games have a base development reference point from where a developer decides to start building their game. In the PC world we'd describe this as, "minimum specs".

That minimal base development matters since it determines how far a developer can push the over all structure, geometry, scope and design of a game.

In the case of Xbox, if a game is cross gen, the base development is Xbox One which means everything has to be designed to work on no more than what a Xbox One can handle then it's scaled up depending other more powerful hardware capability, but the structure of that game will remain limited to it's Xbox One base development.

If an Xbox game is Xbox Series only, the base development for that game has a higher ceiling starting at Xbox Series S. That is where the term "generations" comes from. The base development for games is moved to a new reference point for creation.

For PS5, this means instead "the minimum spec" being a PS4, the PS5 is now the quote unquote minimum spec for game creation for developers.

Hope that clears up your confusion

Decent first party line-up for early half of year and more first party content likely to be announced for later half of the year in coming months.

There's still a lot third party day one Game Pass releases to fill the gaps so overall things are looking to shape up nicely. This month is pretty meaty with Persona 3 and 4 and Hi-Fi Rush, Monster Hunter Rise, Goldeneye 007, Age of Empires II for consoles, next month we get Atomic Heart and after that the new Amnesia, Wo Long, Ghostwire Tokyo, and in the pipe sometime Lies of P and WH40K Darktide.

Game Pass keeps me occupied and having loads of fun and they're delivering on that. Saw one Pony on Twitter the other day like "I'm quitting Game Pass it doesn't have anything that interests me", so someone asks "but what about this and that and this and that, those will be covered by Game Pass " and he responds "I'd rather just pay to buy those on PlayStation"... I mean just a couple of those games more than covers cost of Game Pass for the year but some people refuse to see the value, or refuse to see them as worth playing on Xbox and/or Game Pass but worth spending far more if played elsewhere and without the extra content and benefits of the GP library.

Bro... You choose to game on a console (a cheap entry point into gaming). Cheap consoles aren't meant to have amazing horsepower, hence why the hardware is cheap for middle and lower class families.

Why do console gamers constantly bicker over graphics? It's like Honda Civic owners bickering over who's stock car is faster. It isn't meant to go fast. It's meant to get you from point A to point B at a reasonable cost.

@above_average: You didn’t explain why you think a game developed on ps4 can’t look amazing on a ps5. There’s nothing in a racing game - any racing game, including FH - that can’t be done on a last gen console.

Resolutions, particle count, draw distance, textures and ray tracing are all improved on a current gen version, and there’s absolutely nothing to suggest it would look any better if it were a current gen only game….it’s a racing game.
