Probably. Looking at your sig, your system is identical to my roommate's new tower we just built, except he has a 3570k, which is at 3.4 ghz (haven't tried OCing yet). He crushes pretty much all games with it. although he's already talking about wanting another 560 to SLI.

Xbox and PS offer much better experiences IMO. At least with Sony we KNOW we will get new IPs. Nintendo and Xbox take less risks game wise, I could care less about Sony's sales unless they discontinue their console.

What I mean is, you always see system warriors picking on Sony for sales, yet never for it's games. PS is a gamers console, Xbox a close second. Nintendo are out of it with their extreme casualisation.

I'll buy a PS4 if it comes out next year. I'm waiting a bit over a year after the 720 comes out to get it. As for the Steam Box...it has me interested. I hate PC gaming but Valve is a great company. Getting some of their games on my 50 inch HDTV with a Controller in my hand would make me happy. So I may consider the Steam Box. The OUYA thing is going to fail...miserably. Just a heads up on that one.

Got a proper Steam Box already, no need to wait for the console version.

Ouya! just sounds painful, about as creative as calling it the ouch! or the oof! or somthing else you might say when watching someone run into a lamp post ;) (laughing comes after)

I doubt I'll buy any console that comes out next year. Got quite the backlog and I'm never paticularly eager to spend money on launch consoles.

PS4 is the only true next gen console. The Wii U has sh!tty Polly Pocket Graphics while the 720 will be 67% Kinect 2 games ever since M$ started chasing the Wii's pot of gold. Thank you Sony for making 2012, along with every other year, the year of Playstation. They are the last Bastion for true gamers, not casuals who only play Just Dance and CoD like on Wii and 360. They provide us a constant stream of out of this world ground busting barn breaking exclusives every year and every year after.TheDidact

Being a pc gamer means the next gen is just a graphics card away :D. That being said, I sorely hope they get these new consoles out soon because the age of the 360 and PS3 is really starting to show. I have high hopes for the big two and hope they do a lot to advance our increasingly gamer friendly culture without nickle and diming us too hard in the process.

The Ouya is an interesting concept that might turn the gaming world on its head though that's unlikely. If anything I believe the console will be a great entry point for aspiring game developers and give consumers a likely cheaper and simpler platform to invest in. Seems like it won't take up much room either.

Then there's Valve. A company with the right business model stepping into an even larger gaming realm is certainly something to keep an eye on. If Valve can pull this one off and make a sizable dent in the common household gaming market I can't imagine it would be a bad thing. Publishers like EA wouldn't be able to give the lords of Left 4 Dead the cold shoulder without running the risk of alienating one of the biggest distributors of its titles (or at least that's what I hope though I know EA is stubborn and has the financial clout to justify it). And the joys of Steam sales would be known by all lol.

Nope. Not anytime soon. I'll stick with what i have (PS3/X360) for the long run of this generation. There's just way too many phucking games this generation I have yet to play.

Once support is completely diminshed on both platforms, I have absolutely no idea if I'll be supporting any consoles in generation 8. But I'll keep a watchful eye on what MS or Sony has to offer.

Exactly. That's why I'm kind of interested in it. I just want to know what they're actually going to do. If they try to just make a small PC that is "easily hooked up to a TV", I think it'll be a colossal failure, because PCs already do that. Any PC built in the last several years can hook up to a TV with no more effort than a console.

OK... but Steambox isn't a console. It's just a closed PC to make Big Picture easier to use with your Steam library which can be accessed on any PC. :/
