I'm going to be honest. I suck at online competitive games. MY KDR in Killzone 2 was 0.62 (or somewhere around that) back when I played it. My KDR in BF3 for PC is 0.51. Yea, I know, it's laughable. However, I still enjoy playing.

Someone told me that the cause of my low KDR might be my relatively hign pings, which can be as high as 300+ at times, but whatever.

I'd be satisfied with a K/D ratio of 1.

I always suck at first then I become better than the average. I never played an online game enough to be one of the best ever because I get bored of them pretty quickly.

Depends on the genre.  I'm terrible at MOBA but for shooter games, lifetime KDR tends to hover around 2.0.  Some games I'm better at, others worse.

I think the best lifetime KDR I ever achieved was in UC3 MP at something like 5.2 over 300+ hours.

When I play games online which is not very often,I tend to always try and achieve the given objectives in a game rather than run around killing as many people as possible.

Therefore my kill/death ratio is usually bad but I get good scores in the games.

Most fun I've had online this gen was with Motorstorm Apocalypse, fantastic fun and I was pretty good getting my fair share of wins which is no mean feat given how insane the tracks are in that game.

No, I rather play coop. I really don't have the time to play these games to get that good. Also I don't like playing with agressive assholes. It just isn't any fun and I game to have fun.

Fighters yes. I usually reach the highest rank or close The online community for fighters pales in comparison to actual tournament level play though unless you just so happen to face a tournament player online. FPS games I don't practice and just jump on and play every now and then so I'm pretty bad at them. TPS are in the middle. I don't play any other games competitively online.

You know, when it comes to BF3, I really need to learn how to fly the jets and helicopters. If I get into either of these types of vehicles, there's a 100% chance that I'll die.

Don't play on-line competitive games much, but when I do, it's all about FPS. Played a lot of BFBC2, CoD 2,4, MW2 and Quake Live, and yeah, I was pretty good at them, often finishing in the top 3, with my K/D ration between 1.5-2.

Doesn't apply to Quake Live, though, there, having a positive K/D ratio is hard as hell.

I'm good at fighting games. On MVC3 I have a record of 300 wins and only 50 loses but when it comes to shooters is much more diffcult, especially if you play on PS3. Because when you play on PS3 most of the people you play against are from very far away since in North America reigns the Xbox. I can only play locals (US and Canada) to get good latency and is easier to chose who to play in fighting games because is only 1vs1 instead of 16vs16 where you're paired with a bunch of different people from South America, Europe and Japan.

On PS3 Call of Duty has tons of Americans, so that's one of the few games you can play with decent latency if you're from that region.

It takes a bit of practice, but when you get the hang of it, feels awesome.

In BC2, I could stay airborne for most of the match in a single vehicle, and I loved that, especially in the Vietnam expansion, while blasting "Ride of the Valkyries" in the background! :D

I'm not bad but i wouldn't exactly class myself as good either, i do really well in some genre's and really badly in others and there's plenty where i'm entirely average.

Luckily all that doesn't bother me, aslong as im having fun, how good or bad i'm doing is a non-issue.

Eh, sporting high KDR is more about learning how to overpower the opposing team via map and weapon/vehicle control. When you're the only jet or tank on the map, racking up kills comes naturally. And honestly, many kills are borne out of the stupidity of your opponents as much as they are out of your own skill.

I'm usually decent. Not the best there is but in most rounds of something like Battlefield I can get within the top 5 on the board by the end.

Of course we all have our days or rounds where we play shit

A few fighting games, sure. Mainly easy ones like DOA4/5 -- my mixup game with Hitomi is damn near unstoppable. I'm pretty good at a few Anime/Manga based fighters as well. I try to keep up in the more srs fighters like UMVC3/SSFIV but it's impossible. I just don't have the brain for it.

I was actually really good at Warhawk. I had almost a 4 KDR and around  5 SPM.  It's the only game where I actually joined a competitive clan.

No. I do fine against my friends, but I don't have 100+ hours to sink into a game to keep up with the online community, and if I did, I'd be more likely to sink 10 hours into 10 games instead anyway.

Yeah, that's how I feel about it these days as well. For example, would love to play BF4, but I just don't have enough time anymore to properly invest myself into an on-line experience. Could do it a few years ago, but now, I tend to dedicate all my gaming time to quality SP games.

Yep. In Halo 3 I had a 50 in nearly every playlist (mostly with randoms) and in LoL I was Diamond 2 and I've always been good at games like Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Unreal and Quake (early ones).

You should really back up your own gaming prowess before you try to mock someone elses.

Doubt that'll happen though.

I'm pretty decent at shooters, or at least I like to think so. A couple of years back I was all about competitive clans but now I just play casually. I used to be really good at DoTA Allstars back in the day; sunk way too much time in to that game.

This is me as well... 1.5 with a 0.2 deviation depending on the game. For FPS anyway.

Starcraft I'm at 50-55% win ratio (i'm my own worst enemy though... when I know/think I'm winning I slack off, I must be part cat b/c I like to play with my kill, which unfortunately has bit me in the A$$ more times that I'd like to remember.

I wouldn't classify myself as excellent, but I can be somewhat good at a game if I practice enough. I think after many hours of MW2, I reached a K/D ratio of about 1.1, so nothing too bad. On the other hand, in Battlefield 3, it is about 0.75, but I play a lot more as a team with my squadmates and usually get a bunch of points. All depends on the game.

I don't have the time to play online competitively. I do play co-op, or splitscreen deathmath with friends, but that's about it.
