Poll Are you currently a Game Pass member? (95 votes)

Yes! 62%
Nope! 38%

I just got 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate for $150 😎 For those of you who don't know, you can convert your XBX Live membership to Game Pass Ultimate for up to 3 years (Disclaimer: I don't know if there are certain rules that apply in order to participate. Also, this promo may end at any time).. You just need to have XBL and a trial code of Game Pass. For that price, it's an incredible deal. Thanks to MS and to @regnaston for the Game Pass code!

Are you currently a Game Pass member, SW? Have you tried the service? What would make you get one, if possible? I definitely would not pay regular price for this lol. Maybe in the future if the library gets insanely good. but for the same price of XBL? Hell ya haha.

No. I don't have a PC that can run anything past Unreal Tournament 2004 and won't buy an Xbox.

Yeah, I’m a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber. Just became one about a month or so ago. I’m absolutely loving the service and for the amount of games that it currently has I’d be quite satisfied with paying the full regular price of it myself. There’s been a lot that I’ve been checking out and playing from it.

@SolidGame_basic: the only limitation to the "upgrade" is that you can not currently be a GamePass subscriber. So once your 3 years is done (assuming the promo is still available) you do not add more time to the existing one you let it expire and then add more gold and then do the upgrade thing.

BTW turn off recurring billing in your Xbox Settings under subscriptions

I'll subscribe again for a month once something worth playing comes out. More than likely for Halo.

Nope. I buy games. I'm a bit old-fashioned that way.

Not that I have anything against Game Pass, it's just my gaming habits doesn't quite gel with that model. To give an example; I only just completed Doom 2016 last month. Phew, only took me 5 years.

I am a gamepass member. I love knowing all the first party exclusives are on gamepass day one. It's super nice to watch the e3 event knowing almost every game is coming to gamepass. Microsoft has been doing a great job getting 3rd party day one also. Outriders, medium, back4blood etc.

The amount of bc games either optimized or fps boosted is ridiculous. Meanwhile Sony charging 70 bucks a game. Sony also charging a 10 pay wall for haptic feedback, 3d audio, ssd load times is ridiculous. Imo that's why you pay 500 dollars for the ps5. I always had both systems. This time I will stick to series x, unless I get the ps5 as a gift

Yes, and it's good for having a library of games to play online with friends as all who have it have access to same games which is nice, so I don't have to pitch games to them. Saves me a ton of money so when I wanna splurge on the occasional game it's no big deal. I have multiple consoles and the ecosystem with the cloud saves makes jumping between devices effortless.

I have had the service pretty much since it went live, it has improved so much in its line-up. When it started my problem wasn't the library lacked good games, it had them, just I already owned many. Since the commitment to release first party games though it has steadily improved. I started buying less and thus less of an issue with the redundancy between its catalog and my library.

I have come to try out games I would later buy, and others on my wishlist I am waiting for a sale before grabbing. Others were just too good I later picked up despite no sale because I had to play them again. I played many that were never on my radar and come to love them.

It's really great to not have to stress about knowing whether some games are worth your time and money, worry if you wanna buy it or something else, you just know it will be there to play when you want to.

The only thing that breaks my heart is not knowing when they'll pull certain games and having to rush to play them. It would be nice to have at least one full month of knowing.

I'm not sure it works that way, I did the upgrade thing for the first 2 years and then it expired. Since the promo is for first time subscribers only, once you try to turn gold into game pass it will use the rates on this conversion table.

@girlusocrazy:

if you're a first time subscriber the smart thing to do is buy 3 years of gold, use the promo and that will convert those three years into 3 years of game pass. The second time wont work cause you're no longer a first time subscriber, and converting gold to game pass will use the rates I shared.

What I did to keep the price low is to buy 3 month digital codes from amazon when they hit 25-30 dollar price.

it will work again if you allow the subscription to expire.. worst case scenario you don't get the $1 offer and have to buy 1 month of GPU which then converts all the Gold to GPU

you can turn 3 years of gold in to GPU if you do not have a current GPU subscription. If the $1 offer is not there, you can still convert all that Gold into GPU by buying 1 month of GPU

@regnaston: Well from my experience the promo only worked for first time subscribers, even if you let it expire they know your profile is not a first time subscriber the next time you wanna convert gold into game pass. I could be wrong, but I could not do it a second time.

It has worked multiple times for me.. you have to let it expire and do it the next day.

However sometimes you can find GPU codes on sale for cheap. I found 2 week codes on sale for $1.99 and bought a bunch to extend my subscription made it the same price to extend 1 year that would have paid for gold

Yep. I love it. I was able to play through all of the kingdom hearts games a few months ago thanks to gamepass. I played games like nhl 21 and call of the sea recently on gamepass. I am planning to use my MS reward points in 8-10 months to get gamepass ultimate for free for a year.

How do you get so many points? 1 month costs 14000 points. A year would be a shitload. You buy stuff on MS store?

Nah. Seems like a great service for sure, just doesn't get most of the stuff I like. And even when it does get the occasional title I'd play, not really interested in gaming on their time table. I just buy/play what I want and when I want to.

Hope it continues to grow though, could definitely see myself using it as the library gets larger and more varied.

Anyway to the OP, hell yeah I am a member (pc), best damn deal in the market and I’ll happily support it with my 10$ a month! Glad all the cows are also coming around to see the greatness that is gamepass!

This is what I did - I was not an existing Game Pass member. I had tried Game Pass last year, but I did not have an active subscription. I bought 3 $50 XBL cards from Newegg, and then added the Game Pass trial code I had, and that's how I got the 3 years. The max you can get is 3 years. If you're currently a Game Pass member, I think they still convert it, but it's not 1 to 1. It's much less.

I tried it on PC when Sea of Thieves came out. It's not my cup of tea. While I can see the appeal with parents and younger people, it's hard for me to justify adding another monthly sub when my backlog of owned games has more games than Gamepass has.
