I have bought it and have played 1-2 hours. so far it's enjoyable. Anyone else ?
I saw that it was released and that they delayed reviews and that it is build around microtransactions that run out which is subject to change over time and that you have to buy character slots if you want more than one character. (No.)
But if you enjoy it then that makes me happy.
I like co-op tower defense type games so I may get it at one point on sale but I don't feel the need to get it now unless it gets some kind of rave reviews because it's doing something different, etc.
I got it on Tuesday. The opening cinematic was interesting. It definitely feels like a metal gear spin-off. The zombie twist ain't not half bad. Hardly the disaster anything expected because of jim sterling and I dunno, internet hate.
Tried to get on the beta three times. First time, not enough people joined the lobby to start a game. Later two times, it said the servers were undergoing maintenance and I would not be able to play. Deleted it shortly after. I don't care anymore. The zombies never interested me. I want my MGS enemies to be able to shoot back.

That's your problem for getting it too late. Even though that my internet and modem was awful I managed to play 4 matches with other people.
BTW maybe zombies are stupid but there are much more of them attacking you at the same time compare to soldiers in Phantom Pain. And you also have much less ammunition compare to PP.

It seems like that the developers listened to people complaints about Phantom Pain and brought codecs back.
And it's good that they removed the regenerating HP and brought back the HP system of MGS 3 with stamina meter.
The DF analysis doesn't do it any favors, although it seems some fun could be had online. I think I'll pass for now...I wouldn't mind trying it but no way I'm paying full price
@needhealing: MGS V was far from trash. It had a great stealth gameplay. unfortunately it was dragged down by it's awful side ops missions and boring empty world.
Surely it cant be worse than the trash game that was mgs5.
Blanket statements, because why bother articulating your points when a poorly chosen word is lazy and easier.
Odd that it wasn't f2p though. I'll wait for it to be f2p? I don't really see where money went, and it's using a f2p model without the f.
I feel like if this had released on Vita or PSP people would have gone easier on the game. It does, at times, feel like a portable game put on consoles. Mostly in its concept and spin-off-ness, if that makes any sense.

I'm not going to write a review for you.

Forget review, you can't even handle more than one sentence.
Clocked 10 hours in it.
So far this game has a much better open world compare to the dull and boring open world of Phantom Pain because in survive travelling in the map is really dangerous and dying will bring you back to the main camp.

The PC version is on the top seller's list for now and Console versions will sell better than the PC so I don't think it's gonna happen.

Then don't expect anyone to respect your one-word "garbage" critique of a 90 hours plus experience. Bah, it's garbage, that's garbage, the whole thing is garbage. It's disrespectful of their hard work and a gross exaggeration of even the games biggest flaws. But all this actual thought, logic, and reason is clearly wasted on you. What's your response? "Lulz garbage?"
I just heard that you also have to pay extra for save games. Is that on top of paying for extra characters? That seems a little odd.

You have to pay for extra character slots. But much like metal gear online, no one needs this. It's literally getting upset over nothing.

Only a fanboy would rationalize a publisher charging $10 to start a New Game without deleting their saves as being "nothing". You can't name one good reason for this. Fanboys ruin the industry.
Gonna wait for rational reviews. i.e. not jumping on a bandwagon
The main problem about reviews is that they are biased.
Imo buy this game only if you enjoy a survival horror game in Metal Gear universe.

Well, you can earn the coins in the game as well and unlock a new save slot for free. Why do you need so many save slots anyway? I'm good with the one. I think gamers grab their pitchforks and torches about everything nowadays. It means nothing anymore when a gamer gets upset. Everything upsets them. I legit, now see people complain when a game is only TWENTY hours long. Like that's short, what? Gamers lost their right to complain a long time ago.

"Gamers" aren't a monolith or social class. The quality of one criticism made by "gamers" is not indicative of the legitimacy of another. Despite your deflection, you haven't made a case why paying for save games is "literally nothing" and is reasonable in any way.

New save probably costs Konami money on their end. So they pass that cost onto you the consumer.
can anyone confirm a review on amazon from a disgruntled ps4 owner saying you need a ps plus account to play the campaign?
Ask here:
http://mgsforums.com/forum/3014248/
OK. So they do charge for character slots and that is completely ridiculous but it's good to hear that it's not really needed to just play the game. That's important.
Still though. Come on, Konami. Go back to pachinko if you don't care about your games. What's next? Buying water to use in a survival game?
Why are you supporting Konami
Because:
1. I felt bad for the developers working on it that just received hate massages from the majority of gamers and media ever since the first trailer.(which they already confirmed from that point that it's just a spin off similar to Rising and Ac!d)
2. And I followed the news of this game closely and listened the opinion of unbiased people whom didn't give a damn about Kojima V Konami thing.(And they enjoyed this game)
Then because of this 2 I bought this game and haven't regretted that because this game is a pretty great game and much more enjoyable than Phantom Pain.
Guess I'll have to eat my previous words :), but while enjoying some fine whiskey and after a long work day yesterday, the IGN video review pushed me to get the game lol.....figured I'd give the creators of Castlevania another little chance.... I'm enjoying it so far, surprised to see the length they went to for the story setup. Takes a little bit before the game gets going.
Solid gameplay overall, I'm enjoying the core mechanics so far. Thing is I enjoy survival/tower defense type games, so I'm experienced in this genre and curious of their take with this game. So far so good, but I'm playing on the X and the HDR brightness screen made no sense, I could not see the 2 images and I know it's nothing to do with my setup. But in game it looks fine overall, although just like the DF video pointed out the overall color palette seems a little drab.
@dorog1995: yeah I know lol, but the video review brought up a few positive points nonetheless, the reviewer wasn't slamming the game during the entire review. It wasn't just that, I enjoy the genre but I wanted to wait until the price went down....I had some extra Microsoft rewards funds and it just cost me around 30$ so it wasn't too bad.
After seeing more footage I just felt like I wanted to try this one out.....I don't know, I just changed my mind in that moment, digital impulse purchase lol. I don't regret it so far though, I am enjoying it and the mechanics seem well done overall, not too complex.
@Alucard_Prime: Even on steam most of the buyers have given it a positive review.
The main reason for all this negativity is due to this fact that gaming media And some overrated youtubers really likes Konami to fail ever since the whole Konami Vs Kojima drama.

They haven't exactly shaken it off with insulting business practice. Selling save-slots (get fucked) it's about the single dumbest move they could do to inflame hate.
Konami finally ruined Metal Gear franchise for good lol
Mack's reviews are epic.

Unfortunately Microtransactions are the future of AAA games.
Having better graphics will cost more for developing and also increases the development time.(Just compare the development time of the games in PS2 era and now)
And with huge publishers making a lot of profit with MTs they will stay in games unless publishers decide to make games with the old graphics.(Which majority of gamers love to hate.)

Games don't take any longer to develop now than they did 15 years ago. What's very costly are cinematics and marketing.
@Johnny-n-Roger: back then it would take 1-2 years for capcom to make a RE game. MGS 2 and MGS 3 had 2-3 years development time. and it would also take namco much less time to make a Tekken game.
It also took Rockstar 1 year to develop GTA Vice City and 2 years to develop San Andress.(Which both are huge open world games)
