I notice people on here mention Console sales numbers and how many XBLG subscribers (30 mill?) there are but never any numbers of PS Plus subscribers.

does anyone know what they are? have Sony said anything regarding this?

Not sure. Don't think any have been released.

Sadly, I'd imagine it's far less than the amount of people that pay for Gold. What I am curious to know though, is have they actually made any money off of it? Is it profitable, at all? It baffles me that they could afford such discounts and "free" games, all for a relatively tiny sub fee.

I would assume since xblg is a service compared to a perks program that is ps plus...well there you go I just wanted to point that out.

After they offered free games I believe it started to grow. Don't have a number, but Sony appeard happy/positiv in an interview some time after the announcement. Since it also just released on the Vita I assume it's doing great.

Paying for P2P gaming? Tsk ;) Nah, in all seriousness though, aside from paying for P2P gaming, XBLG is essentially a perks program from what I gather anyway? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I used to have it about 5 or 6 years ago so can't remember. Don't you folks get access to various streaming services for the fee, or do you have to pay for them on top?
