The Myst remake/remaster/whatever/VR version is finally breaking free of the Quest. Oculus Rift S fans rejoice....or any other PCVR headset you happen to like. I never played the original, so this will be a fresh experience. Looking forward to the peaceful immersion.

Super exciting. I've always been ridiculously intrigued by this series, but just never got into it. Figured this is the time.

Which headset do you use?

@wandering_halls: I have a WMR - Samsung Odyssey+. I like it a lot - one cord, and the screendoor effect is much less than my HTC Vive Pro we use in my lab. Only two compaints: the cord should be longer and because it uses inside out tracking (generally a plus IMO) it doesn't deal well with controllers going behind you or really bad lighting in the room (e.g., you might need to turn the lights on on a cloudy day or definitely at night if you want to play roomscale)

Great news indeed. I haven't played Obduction in VR but I enjoyed the game.

It says PC and Mac, what do they mean when they say PC? 😎

@Pedro: Oooooh Obduction. Forgot about that one. Thanks for the reminder. I know it was trash on PSVR, but should be good on PC, I assume.

It should be fine on PC. You haven't played it I guess?

@xantufrog: Cool. Not too many Odyssey users that I know of. And yeah, screendoor isn't a deal-breaker or anything, but it's definitely noticeable on my Rift S....way more so than my PSVR, which basically doesn't have screendoor at all. After a while I don't even notice it anymore, though. My one gripe with the Rift S is that lack of a general brightness slider. I tend to like to dim the ambiance of my VR games.

I would revisit, for the nostalgia tickle. So wait, are they doing a full real-time 3D remake? If so, at least include the original one with the transition between static shots navigation. Anyhow, never played the sequels.

I would get this if it came to consoles, but not compelled enough to get this on PC at this time.

Nope. Back when it released for VR I didn't have my Rift S, and the PSVR version is totally unacceptable--ridiculous load times, horrendous blur, etc. Then I got the Rift S.....and forgot about the game.

I think the only Myst game I ever played was Myst III: Exile on PC. I actually still have the physical version and the box is still in great shape. 👍

I bought it because I thought that is was really cool that Brad Dourif was in it. I’m not sure if I ever finished it or not but I did play a fair amount of it and quite enjoyed it.

Myst Exile was the only Myst game I completed without needing help. 😅

I don't mind getting stumped, it is when I see the solution and the logical behind it and I am like 😐 that makes no sense whatsoever.😑

@Pedro: Definitely agree with that. Illogical solutions are especially frustrating.

@Pedro: Illogical solutions simply require a dynamic form of intelligence i.e. outside of box. Love that type of stuff, myself.

Riven is still the apex of the series (and probably whole genre). I hope hope hope that one is next.

I always been a fan. I played like 2 years ago the remake. But I never been able, even with all my genius, to figure out how to do that.

😂 that is a strange way to damage control illogical puzzles.

Something about Riven captures me the most out of all entries. I mean, I've never played any, but just the look of Riven seems more surreal, dream-like....or at least pretty strange. I dig it.

@wandering_halls: there's cool lore linking the two and I think Myst is a good stepping stone into the puzzles (Riven is tough as nails) - but Riven is bigger, more beautiful, and feels much more cohesive (the puzzles are integrated thematically, instead of the hodge-podge of Myst - even though there is a reason for the hodgepodge that I won't spoil)
