Any major releases you're passing on this year?

I was actually going to grab RDR2 before I started hearing a lot of things wrong with it. (Not really liking all the stuff I've heard about ultra realism, because that would just take away some of the fun for me). I also didn't get the first until a year later, so ended up getting the GOTY version with Undead Nightmare for like 30, so maybe I'll just keep waiting on it and see what happens.

The main one is Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I've always bought the AC games but I'm abit over Ubi's open world games right now.

Might get it eventually though.

I've passed on them all so far. Not because I don't want any of them, but just because I've got older games I'm working through still or always meant to.

Every. Fucking. Year. I tell myself I'm going to say no to the new AC, but I always cave less than a week before it's out. I almost ALMOST passed on AC: Unity on the day of release, but somehow it ended up in my bag when I walked out of Best Buy to get some movies... *hangs my head in shame* And I had a lot of issued with Origins, so I'm really surprised I ended up getting Odyssey, which I still haven't opened yet.

Soul Calibur VI, and to a lesser degree, Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter, but I wasn't really a fan of either series to begin with. I'm currently busy enough with RDR2, and I still have Spider-Man and some other games on my backlog that I'd like to finish.

Ass creed, Fallout 76, Spiderman, and I’m sure a bunch of others. I don’t buy most AAA titles until the game of the year edition comes out so I don’t have to buy all the dlc and the price is much cheaper. Plus I have wayyyy too many games to play as it is lol.

I Think BFV is the only big thing I did get this year.

Everything else, meh.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey immediately springs to mind. I don’t really plan on getting this game. Not really because I don’t like it though, it’s just that I have so many other games I’d rather get first and by time I get those there’ll be other games I’d rather get come out.

RDR2. Its a 2019 purchase for me. Interested but not crazy hyped.

SC6 as my past favorite characters got cut.

AC Odyssey as I still need to finish Origins.

Both BO4 and BF5 despite getting the previous games in these series.

The Walking Dead beta was awful, so I skipped that one. Fallout 76 was just plain mediocre; I would maybe pick it up for 30, but definitely not 50+. Waiting for RDR2 on PC, as I don't want to purchase a PS4. Kind of want to get Soul Calibur, but waiting on a good sale.

Yeah... I've been an AC fan since Black Flag, but Odyssey just hasn't appealed to me. Maybe because it feels like I only just finished Origins and put a tonne of hours into it... so not really in the mood for more of the same.

I kinda wished they'd released it next year instead. Then I probably would've been more excited.

Ive passed on everything this year

I've passed on everything I know I won't have the time to play due to life.....

Yeah I'm happy to have skipped on the walking dead, I was really hoping for another Left 4 Dead, and judging by Overkill's previous games they had every possibility to do it right.

Unfortunately though the game looked horrible in alpha and I couldn't stand playing more than 5 minutes of the beta.

The only triple A game I’ve purchased this holiday is Forza Horizon 4. I usually buy most of the big games around this time, but nothing has grabbed me. Battlefield has scrapped any shred of realism for a politically correct narrative, CoD looks like CoD but with a Battle Royale mode, I’ve never cared for Assassins Creed, and Fallout 76 looks like a bad and ugly MMO - a genre I’ve tired of after 14 years of WoW.

Luckily my backlog is a plenty and FH4 is great so I have more than enough to play.

Pretty much everything except Forza Horizon 4 and SoulCalibur VI, though that might change come the winter sales.

I'm on very strict budget rules, even recording every game purchase on a spreadsheet to make sure I think through every decision and never impulse buy.

I'm skipping Battlefield V. I cannot go back to the WW2 setting after ditching it with COD3 back in 2007.

RDR2 - waiting on PC verions

God of War - waiting until it is cheaper

Forza Horizon 4 - no really into racers, will get when cheaper

Odyssey - Waiting until i get my 2080 ti system built, game is unoptomized

Battlefield - not into shooters, will get free on Origin

Fallout 76 - will get when they fix the game and update it enough so its playable, maybe add npcs

It’s be easier to say what games I have bought. Far cry 5, god of war, spiderman, red dead 2. I’ve played state of decay 2 and Forza Horizon 4 through games pass aswell. Everything else is a pass, although I’ll pick up tomb raider when I’m finished with rdr2.

God of war... Maybe at some point I'll grab it but I'm not really coming out of my chair to play it.

Fallout 76 is a possibility too.... I'm not sure I have the time to coordinate game sessions with friends and I don't wanna play exclusively with randoms.

I haven't bought a game since Divinity Original Sin 2 in August. I don't plan on buying anything in the foreseeable future. I don't buy games with microtransactions. Divinity 2 was the complete package so I had no problem spending money on it. As for major releases this fall either it don't interest me or it has microtransactions. I was interested in Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry but the announcement of microtransactions killed any interest I had in them. I'm just about done with modern gaming. I'm gonna wait and see how Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 turn out. Also looking forward to the new Elder Scrolls game. It's probably going to be a long wait before I buy anything.

i have decided. im clogged up. too many games on the backlog. im not buying more games until a good chunk is cleared. it could be months before i buy a game again.

....except for monster hunter world but ONLY when thats stable on proton. though maybe i should get it to test it and help report bugs..yeah.....yeah.

NO! no more games for a while. i think my next big gaming related purchase will be a SmachZ IF it's real.

Still not playing RDR2 until it hits PC. I am feeling zero pressure to get it now.

A few, not out of a lack of interest, just too much on my plate. But AC Odyssey does spring to mind of one I genuinely have little interest in, I didn't think Origins did much to make series more interesting, they did good on production values but game still felt like shallow cookie cutter game, combat feels less refined than it needs to be, I can't bring myself to finish it, and hearing this new one is just a big grind does little to motivate me.

Playing RDR2 now, might not start anything new for a while, maybe just Battlefield 5 and that's it. Still need to play Spider-Man, God of War, Detroit, Forza Horizon 4 just to name a few, want to, just haven't found time.

Usual suspects. Assassins Creed, Battlefield, Call OF Duty etc...

Two others that I was interested in getting, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield 5, will also very likely be passed as well. Just too much other stuff on my plate these days.

It's probably the best Assassin's Creed game since AC 2. I'm sure there are plenty who's disagree with me but Alexios is a great character to play (Kassandra is just Alexios in a woman skin though)

I passed on Spiderman. Just not my thing.

After playing COD WW2 and BF1 and still playing them I think I'll pass on BFV. I like WW2 games, but I don't really care for the changes they made to the BF formula.

Spiderman - not really into superheroes and seems like 'just another open world game'

AC: Odyssey - I might end up getting this one late this year or early next year, but at the moment, seems like another huge open world game that I just don't have the time for (or the inclination after spending a million hours with RDR2)

Black Ops 4 - I wasn't impressed with the Blackout beta (just PUBG with worse gunplay) and the other modes don't interest me.

BFV - I had originally planned on getting this to play with friends, but I didn't much enjoy the Beta, and my initial time with the full version via Origin Access trial hasn't changed my mind. just feels like nothing new and i'm not that fond of modern BF gameplay.

these are the games that I was following/sorta interested in before launch, there are lots of other 'major releases' that just aren't really on my radar since they are in genres/series I'm not interested in

I've skipped over Mario Party and Pokemon Let's Go for now, mainly due to budget and spare time reasons.

Where do I start? RDR2 will have to wait. SpiderMan I recently bought but won't have time to play before I finish Rise of the Tomb Raider. God of War haven't bought nor thought about doing so. Along AC Odyssey (like another AC game since AC3), BFV, Fallout 76, Every nintendo and xbone exclusive.
