I had the Witcher 3 on PS4 for a while but never finished it, traded it in actually for Batman AK not too long after it came out. One thing I hated about it was it obscene amounts of motion blur, the ridiculous "Witcher Sense" effects and it's sharpening effect and chromatic aberration. All of which I was happy to turn off like no tomorrow, it made the experience so much more tolerable for me.

For all the bragging everyone does about what settings we can turn up I'm so happy to be able to turn certain things down or off to a tolerable level. So many games I've played on console with motion blur, chromatic aberration and lens flare make a lot of games art styles and graphical prowess shine trough.

Still waiting for PC to turn on a 10/10 exclusive or a recent exclusive GOTY as per GS. Seems like that switch is broke for good.

@Heil68: Too bad by gamespots own admittance that the PC standards are so much higher than consoles standards it'll probably never happen. Owwwwwww

Well Uncharted 4 is current gen 8 recent exclusive 10/10 AAAAE essential game king, and by golly that's something PC has never gotten as per GS.

"Motion Blur = Off"

Every single game I play. Otherwise, I literally cannot play it due to motion sickness.

Settings is all you said here!

This is something that devs can and are already starting to do on consoles (look at doom) reving up for PS4neo and the upgraded xbox. It is something that's going to be common place once these consoles release so, no, that's not something that's exclusive to PC and not something that's going to be a reason for anyone to gloat over PC about. But yea setting options are cool.

Urgh, the ability to cut such nonsense is such a minor but useful customisation feature it should be in every version of each game, and should not be a valid point scorer in System Wars. Some games have actually started to lead the way, such as the new Doom. Other devs and publishers should now follow suit.

This thread is sad.

It's still an exclusive feature for PC at the moment, thread is completely legit.

Also, do you have a link that shows that the PS4Neo and Xbox2 (lol upgrading consoles) will indeed have the ability to disable motion blur, chromatic abberation, and sharpening in Witcher 3?

Yeah.

New rule on graphics shots. Player gameplay perspective shots, and the image has to be in motion. For example, you can not pause the game--freeze frame, the image. A game moves there for the game in motion is just important. Some games have all the blur and all this other nonsense.

Follow these rules and you will all see that Star Fox Zero has the best graphics.

@Chozofication:

No I'm serious. People here don't seem to understand image quality. Starfox has amazing visuals. Everything is seamless and the game worlds are enormous. The characters are large, so the scale is all very relative. For example. The cruiser ships are on the scale of the boat in Uncharted 3. There are numerous ships on screen at the same time, and these ships break apart. Pieces fly all over. The shifts in perspective give the game depth.

Same but not because of motion sickness...just really hate the look...problem is now its being over use/abuse...eg. NFS early only use when NOS kicks in...now its use all the time...when NOS kicks in there's like no different. Not sure why they use it on First person human game though. :P

Absolutely agree. The Xbox 360 version of Tomb Raider Anniversary is the worst. The amount of HDR (I think it is) in that is so excessive, I'd rather play the Wii or PC version for sure.

I tend to turn down or off motion blur too. I think it's an effect more suited for consoles to hide the graphical flaws perhaps.

Motion blur = off
Grain filter = off
Bloom / HDR = off (if it's terrible in the game)
chromatic aberration = off (Why even use this.......)

@Heil68: The Gamespot worshiper has returned. Seriously, these guys are not only bias (or just plain stupid) as hell, but they can't even tell the difference between a first person and third person game. But I am honestly not surprised that someone like yourself puts so much faith into them.

I see this getting mentioned more and more in System Wars, and I definitely concur.

I mean why not allow these options in Console games ? Some of these god awful effect even eat up FPS...

Yeah these things go standard for me.

I always turn off motion blur... unless it's a racing game, than I turn it on low. But unless I'm speading at 200km/h I don't want my screen getting blurry for every action I do with the in game camera.

And I also turn off Depth of Field, it makes everything blurry in the distance... but what if I'm looking at the distance ?

And if the only AA is FXAA I turn it off too. I really don't like blurring an otherwise pretty game.

Yeah, I dislike FXAA as well. It makes the screen look like it's been smeared with vaseline.

Most of the time I'll just force MSAA through the Nvida control panel.

The abomination that is Chromatic Abberation, and Motion Blur, and the dumbest of all, Film Grain a choice to actually degrade the fidelity of the image...........these effects are for idiotic pusswahs :P
