Only reason GoW and Horizon are on this list is cause Sony forced gamers to buy them with Bundles at an increased price. And them not counting digital for Nintendo makes this list worthless. Digital sales account for about 71% of game sales in 2022. This is the top selling games when we dont count Nintendo digital games of 2022.

Not really surprised to see COD on the top, glad to see Elden ring, and GoW: Ragnarok, also Nintendo seems to be doing very well. 2 games in the top ten is very acknowledgable.

Most of those aren't really a surprise though. I fully expect CoD to be #1. I expected Elden Ring to be #2. Ragnarok and Horizon being there makes total sense. I'm really surprised GT7 isn't on there. It did get a lot of negative press about its in game economy though. Pokemon always sells like crazy even if there is very little changes to the game outside of Arceus. Most surprising game on there is Lego Star Wars Skywalker Collection tbh.

I have three of those titles: Lego Star Wars, Elden Ring, and Pokemon Violet. The only one that was a huge letdown was the Skywalker saga. Open world with seemingly no levels, just an open world to explore. I don't like that. I haven't beaten it yet because of that huge turn off, but I should redownload it and beat it since I've platinumed every Lego game so far. At least the ones I've owned.

The God of War Ragnarok PS5 bundle are the only PS5 systems that I ever see at my local Walmart and Best Buy stores. Before that it was the Horizon: Forbidden West bundles. That’s the one I got. I’ve never ever seen just the barebones PS5 system for sale here.

Everyone knew COD:MW2 would be #1, but who could imagine Elden Ring being #2 best selling? Obviously we all knew it would win GOTY and people like me accurately predicted exactly 96 @ MC as it was destined to be one of the greatest games in history. but to be so popular by the casuals? who would have thunk.

Both would certainly be in the top 5 if digital sales were counted.

@PSP107: I don't hate sports games. I love Fifa and NBA2k. Madden was a far inferior game to nfl2k. Nfl2k sold at like $30 less than madden and was killing its sales. Instead of making madden better, they got exclusive rights to the NFL. Plus even NFL stars are complaining about the new Madden game being broken. The way to prevent that in the future is to not support the game. Tell ea they can't get away with it. But it's still the #3 best selling game in the US. To me, that's just telling ea, they can release broken games with no reprocussions.

It's not like anyone couldn't have just bought a cheap 2nd hand used PS4 at discount and got the game at base price. PS4 is now TEN YEARS OLD lmfao and can be found used ANYWHERE! No one had to buy a PS5 for either one of those games!

I understand you're trying to spin this as a negative but you're actually doing the opposite. This post only exposes how bitter you are that Sony is able to produce games of a quality and mass appeal that gets this kind of reception.
