Analysis: Is year 2020 is on verge on becoming Gaming greatest year?

..since 2004 or forever?

here why i believe. if we get Remakes best of old games, and we get new games. combine them doesnot become best year? of course it can.

on new game side:

Doom Eternal released and it become one of the best FPS of all time. only behind STALKER, Deus Ex and System shock 2 and almost as good as Half life 2 or better when it comes to combat mechanics.

We are getting Cyberpunk 2077 the most ambitious game of all time. and looks like a true successor of original Deus Ex the FPS/RPG set in sci fi cyberpunk world.

We are getting resurgence of RTS genre publish by microsoft as first true AAA RTS in years that will be age of empire 4.

Street of Rage 4 turn out to be pretty good despite its no longer my type of game at all but still its good.

Half life alyx despite the game i dont want and i want Half life 3 as proper traditional game. it deserve mention as its only AAA game VR ever had.

Hitman 3 and new Batman are heavily rumored to release this year and both are excellent franchise that donot let down.

Halo infinite is wait and see before hype because it remain to be seen if previous leaked was legit if its semi open 20 hour long SP FPS or yet another MP game remain to be seen but one thing for sure, its first Halo game in history that is design for PC in mind. and would not be straight console port.

Dying Light 2 looks like another amazing game despite not a fan of original but this one looks more story driven and almost immersive sim like experience.

On a Remake side:

Black Mesa turn out to be best remake of all time. not AAA game by big publisher but just made by fans and approved by valve. a masterpiece.

Mafia REMAKE!! OMG OMG i never though i would believe this masterpiece would get a Full fledge remake.!! this is by far my most hype game of 2020 after Eternal released.

Crysis 1 Remastered could turn out great like original if they dont watered down nanosuit and if they fix the second half.

System shock remake is on due and finally it will release this year and this is true successor of system shock 2 an immersive sim gaming need today.

XIII remake is also one i would be interested because original one was pretty good but very flawed but they need to improved it heavily.

so i combine the old and new games. combination would make it best year in gaming.

in a year when Doom Eternal and Mafia remake release. i cannot say a bad year.

I think 2020 is a strong contender for one of the best years in gaming, but it depends on how the rest of this year pans out. It's definitely a great year if you're a Sony and Nintendo fan. If you're an Xbox fan, all you have to talk about is 12 teraflops or something.

because Mafia remake will be better than any of new game. especially any of third person game in market.

Considering that Animal Crossing hit the Switch at a time that most of us are at home because of Covid 19 it could be a great year. It’s only May and the year is not done yet. Anything could happen.

No lol 2020 so far has been pretty meh. Final Fantasy VII: Remake is the best game of 2020 so far, and it's a remake. Doom Eternal is the second best, but that says more about the year than anything else.

We'll get The Last of Us 2 (GOTC contender), GoT and possibly Cyperpunk 2077 (GOTY in a year TLOU2 doesn't exist) so let's see.

Honestly there’s been so many great years in gaming especially the past few years that trying to proclaim any one of the the greatest is getting kind of pointless.

It is shaping up to be a great year though. The release of Final Fantasy VII Remake alone is practically enough to make it that. There’s been some other excellent games both out already or are in the near future to help as well. Plus you have two new consoles releasing too. So yeah it’ll definitely be up there with the other great years in gaming for sure.

I think 2020 already is one of the best years in a long, long time for games. March alone is historic, getting both a new Doom and Half-Life game (plus a few other great games as well).

I can't remember the last time I was, for lack of a better word, overwhelmed by so many great games being available.

Plus with PS5 and Xbox SX (WTF is the official abbreviation for that thing , anyway?) there's been a lot of hype and announcements going on and, as annoying as the hype is, it's also kind of exciting.

There was no good year since 2016 and 17. both 18 and 19 absolutely suck. 2018 especially nothing worthy came out.

2020 is major step forward.

No, not really. 😅

I don't know. I only played these so far -

• Dreams - great for what it is. (GOTY so far)
• Resident Evil 3 - disappointing compared to 2 , but still good. Not truly great.
• Doom Eternal - a bit disappointing and very forgettable , but good enough to get some gameplay fun out of it. It's a solid filler type rental game.

I plan to play these (probably in this order)

• Final Fantasy VII
• The Last of Us Part II
• Ghost of Tsushima
• Nioh 2
• Cyberpunk 2077

Not sure what else I'll play. I hope Psychonauts 2 and Watch Dogs Legion turn out well and come out this year. They both could be very fun. I'm interested.
