From https://www.techpowerup.com/257761/amd-readies-larger-7nm-navi-12-silicon-to-power-radeon-rx-5800-series

NAVI 12 to be the larger scaled NAVI?...

https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-vii-vega-64-56-allegedly-reach-end-of-life-status/

Vega 56/64 and Vega II reached end of life status.

NAVI 10 has dual shader engines (with four prim units, 64 ROPS, 4 MB L2 cache) like Radeon HD 7870's has dual shader engines (with two prim units, 32 ROPS, 512 KB L2 cache).

Based on history, AMD scaled 7870 (with two prim units, 20CU 32 ROPS, 512 KB L2 cache) by 2 into R9-290X with quad shader engines (with four prim units, 44 CU, 64 ROPS, 1 MB L2 cache).

AMD needs to scale NAVI 10's dual shading engines (four prim units, 40 CU, 64 ROPS, 4MB L2 cache) into following configs

Three shading engines (six prim units, 60 CU, 96 ROPS, 6MB L2 cache) with 384 bit bus

Four shading engines (eight prim units, 80 CU, 128 ROPS, 8MB L2 cache) with 512 bit bus or four stack HBM v2

On NAVI, each shader engine (two prim, 20 CU, 32 ROPS, 2MB L2 cache) has 128bit memory bus.

It will use 7nm FinFET transistors from TSMC, which already began manufacturing 7nm nodes over a year ago. This should give AMD a leg-up over Nvidia... until Nvidia releases its own 7nm GPUs, which will use 7nm nodes from Samsung (TSMC's main rival in the transistor business).

@FireEmblem_Man: lol does it? It seems remedy games always get the visual hype and never live up to it. I remember people saying quantum break would destroy UC4...( it didn't).

80 CU doesn't include raster hardware e.g. read/write graphics ROPS, prim trinagle units.

80 CU with NAVI 10's raster hardware runs into the same bottleneck as Vega II.

RX-5700 series has dual shading engines (quad prim units, 64 ROPS, 4MB L2 cache, 256bit bus), hence NAVI 10 positioned like Radeon HD 7870's dual shading engines (dual prim units, 32 ROPS, 512 KB L2 cache) prior to near straight R9-290X (quad prim units, 64 ROPS, 1MB L2 cache, 512 bit bus) 2X scaling.

Any game with ray tracing lighting or reflections destroys any PS4 game in tech.

@DragonfireXZ95: So if it wins in one area and get beats in every other you think it's technically more impressive? Do you think Quake with Raytracing is impressive?

Who said that? You got a link about that? Quantum Break was indeed a disappointment, but it's better looking on PC than any PS4 first Party game

@FireEmblem_Man: lol no it's not. The PC version was essentially identical to the XB1 with better IQ. I can at least name 5 PS4 exclusives that trounce QB regardless of what platform you're playing it on.

No one cares, Remedy is free from Microsoft and Control will be a lot better than Quantum Break, and already looks better than anything from the PS4

@DragonfireXZ95: how did I move the goal post? Im simply asking a question. Are hermits going to do this next gen. If a PS5 exclusive has better character models, higher levels of geometry, larger environments, better animations but the Raytracing isn't as good will you consider it to be inferior?

I obviously wasn't talking about Quake RTX.
