Both in a terms of CPU and GPU

RIP intel. and RIP Nvidia for having toooo high price.

I mean AMD ryzen 4 is equvialant of i7 7th generation yet it has half of price compare to i7.

RX580 is better than GTX 1060 yet 1060 cost high. even not much difference between GTX 1070 and Rx 580.

both in a terms of price and and in terms of performance. AMD becomes new king.

So it’s the king despite the smaller market share in both.

The 1060 is from 2016. What are you on?

1060 price is still waay too high.

Rx 580 crap all over it in performance and also price.

2070 is incredibly expensive. so is 2080ti.

you dont need these to max out any game. Rx 580 max out Metro Exodus.

what intel and nvidia doing is. looting there customers.

comparing AMD to nvidia is like comparing a rich spoilt kid to talented kid.

@Juub1990: Yeah he's not really helping his case with AMD in the GPU market. The GTX 1060 is a year older than the RX 580 and two years older than the RX 590 it'd be pretty pathetic for both of them to not have better performance at the same price range and being newer. Even then the performance difference isn't even that big.

Meanwhile in current year AMD's RX 5000 cards barely beat Nvidia's RTX cards at the same price range in normal rasterization but with ray tracing it immediately goes to Nvidia's RTX cards in having much better performance so you're technically getting a much better deal for your dollar with Nvidia RTX cards if you intend on playing games with ray tracing enabled.

this doesnot matter as 1060 is still more expensive than RX 580!! and difference between 1070 and Rx 580 is very minimum.

performance diff is not that big but price also matter and its significant difference.

As a Ryzen 2700X owner, even I know better AMD is not king! As much as I hate the pricing bullshit Nvidia is doing right now, I still prefer their cards. Nvidia just has better Drivers and more bells and whistles and my RTX 2070 is doing me favors then I can ask for.

But their price are waaayy too high. even 1060 price is too high let alone 2000 series.

1060 is beyond Rx 580 and is equivalent to Rx 570 which is far cheaper.

i was about to get 1070. but then i make my decision to get Rx 580 8 GB which on lesser price.

Dont really pay attention to whos winning, I just buy which ever gives me the best performance for the budget I have.

That was AMD this time around for both CPU and GPU, got a Ryzen 7 2700 and a vega 56 for way less than anything equivalent by intel and nvidia.

What I forgot about is I can no longer use game stream to my nvidia shield, so I'll keep my old system for that.

AMD CPUs are competitive here and there. But in the GPU arena it’s not even close. Especially if you game at 1440p+ or 144fps. AMD has been wasting our time there. TC seems to have forgotten the existence of the 1070, 1070ti, 1080, 1080ti, 1660, 1660ti, 2060, 2060 super, 2070, 2070 super, 2080 and 2080ti. All better than that garbage they’re hyping in the OP.

Thank you Super Sonic.

AMD Ryzen CPU is were it's at, they just suck on the higher-end GPU and I try not to be Nvidia fanboy but I always go for the top-notch GPU and Nvidia just happens to have what I need.

  • CPU-AMD Ryzen
  • GPU-Nvidia only.

1060 worse than rx 580 in literally every way. it cost 1/4 more.

1070 is little bit slighly better than rx 580. it cost more half.

@phbz: Females don’t play hardcore PC games or own expensive rigs. They own average PC’s and play The Sims or maybe the occasional WoW/MMO nerd which doesn’t require a good PC.

The guys who buy AMD are beta’s filled with soy.

Lets ignore the fact that the GTX 1070 is over 3 years old, about 25% faster than RX 580 and hasn't been produced in almost a year. Of course its going to be more expensive.... For the price RX 580 is a good deal when Nvidia's GTX 1660 is $40 more and is only around 10% faster.

As far as CPUs go, I cannot recommend an Intel CPU for pretty much anything - and this is coming from someone with a 8600K OC at 4.8GHz - the frame times on i5s make them frustrating at times for gaming! At every price point, AMD is offering a more well rounded CPU and often better overall; especially the 3600 and the 3900 price points. If you want maybe 5 more fps a the same price for less than half the multithreaded power and a poor scheduler that basically removes streaming from your options, sure, than go for an Intel processor.

For GPUs, the 5700/XT are better price to performance wise, but that is only one area in mid range. Nvidia has high end GPUs that are still unchallenged.

Gtx1060 is a quite low end video card. If anything, AMD is a king of budget gaming

No seriously, hyping 1060 equivalent in 2019 is kinda dumb.

My 6 core I7 from 2014 is still kicking the shit out of 90% AMD cpus?

You often see prior-release GPUs catapult into ridiculous prices once new gens release, or manufacturing is stopped. I was transitioning from my 1070 and I was looking between the RTX line and a 1080ti... I grabbed the RTX 2080, and not long after the 1080ti prices blew out of proportion to thousands of dollars. At the end of the day... Shut up.

Its within margin error for a lot of games and in practicality sense ryzen is the better choice anyway. I'm assuming this is a sh*t posting thread anyway, so I shall add on to this.

AMD is, and always has been, the better budget option. Either way you go, there are plenty of good options.

With all that said, if you want the best performance, you still go with an Intel and Nvidia combo. Period.

Best budget performance cpu = 3600 atm, 200 bucks cheap mobo and done for your average joe.

Best CPU is a 9900k for gaming

Best CPU for rendering/video editing/streaming = Intel i9 9980XE

Best GPU 2080 ti

Best budget GPU 2060s/5700 if you can deal with AMD jank.

@ghosts4ever: Because these are the only cards on the market? Stop making shitty threads.

2070 is incredibly expensive. so is 2080ti.

you dont need these to max out any game. Rx 580 max out Metro Exodus.

what intel and nvidia doing is. looting there customers.

comparing AMD to nvidia is like comparing a rich spoilt kid to talented kid.

If Nvidia has better cards then that means that AMD isn't the king. You get what you pay for.

Amd cpu's are king tho :P

I'll only ever buy CPUs from AMD. They're just not pushing it on the GPU front. I guess they're fine with soaking up console money.
