I dont have a link, but I just saw this on G4,a child was playing 360 then a fire broke out. Kid dies and parents sue Microsoft. Microsoft blames the family saying "they knew the risk"!? WTF!!!!!! Has any one else heard of this?

This is so freaking old, like 2003 old. The kid died when an original Xbox caught fire, because daddy left the console on all night.

I doubt it was the XBOX that caused the problem. Most likely bad wiring or electrical outlet. Thats terrible though.

There is one story about a guy who was obsessed with Devil May Cry. He called himself Dante and one day he burned his house down to kill his family so that he would be adopted by a rich family. He killed his sister, but the rest of his family survived.

Yeah I saw it on Engadget. I saw the gist of it Microsoft blaming the parents for the misuse of the 360. But then the 360 is a walking time bomb ready to explode because of overheating problems.

100% defective 360s due to heating problems, imagine if there was an added defect where the heat sensors fail to detect the overheating... Boom! There goes the Processors, and they can go on fire.

If you look up the facts, this happened way before the 360 came out.

You guys act like Sony didn't recall millions of batteries for...what was that they did? Burst into flames?

I think we as a population have already accepted that the chance of dying in the most horrible way possible is a small sacrifice to pay for spreadsheets and Gflops.

Are you going to stop using technology because a few people die? Because if so, man, y'know your moral superiority... it's a little late.

It was a problem with the Xbox... more then one fire resulted from it... they had to recall the power supply cables for some of the Xbox models.

I'm pretty sure overloading an outlit causes fire. I saw huge sparks on this stupidly wired set of kitchen appliances...
