$250 1TB...is SAD DOA?

(SAD=One S All Digital Edition)for those confused

Rumors are pointing to $250US from conversion.

Only 1TB.

So is the SAD dead on arrival.

With an all digital version you'd expect 2TB or more considering how much game space are , and $250??? I'd say $150 is more acceptable.

Lol, saying SADE instead of SAD is such a lem thing. The Sad edition Bone is such a scam. Same case mold to trick parents and saving on plastic, only 1tb and being over 200 bucks. For all we know, those are used consoles with the disc drive removed.

$150? Maybe $180. I think people don't realized how expensive computer chips are sometimes.

But...on a side note, I'd personally rather save the $250 for a Nintendo Switch or a 2TB SSD for my computer.

To be honest, I really thought this Xbox One S Disc-less was already out. Guess I been living under a rock but then again, I really don't pay attention to Xbox One consoles anyways.

Assuming the price is around $249.....that's still overpriced for a disc less console. If there's no moving parts, other than the fan, and runs quiet, $149-$199 should be about right.

That's actually a pretty good deal.

For those thinking 1 TB is not enough, it should be; you won't be able to keep all of your games installed, but you will certainly be able to keep many of them installed at once. I've had a 1 TB drive on my PC for five years now, it's never been an issue.

Yeah, the SAD Xbone is a bit of a dumb purchase.

A lazy attempt by MS. You would have thought it is in their interests to make this version well balanced and affordable considering they're the ones that want to push for an all digital future.

Decent price, with a few games thrown in. It won't make big sales numbers, but it's a pretty solid entry-point for console gaming.

@pdogg93: Nobody asked for a cheaper console? Yeah, download only is a limit, but it's a cheaper option. BTW, I have 6TB's of storage on my PC, split 3 and 3 (games and other media.) My Game drive is less than 1TB, and I only utilize downloadable games.

There has been study after study that show that the majority of gamers are moving to digital only gaming.

Even if you dont buy the research, look at what is happening to Gamestop and Walmart game sales.

I think MS is right on the product, wrong on the price and HDD space.

An all digital console needs more than 1TB of space.

$200 for the Xbox One S is currently the standard price. Because the system is perpetually "on sale" to argue that its $300 would be disingenuous.

1TB is enough for digital only.

Got a 512 + 256 gb ssd and never had issue's.

Games you don't play anymore delete them and re-download when i need too.

Want more space buy a bigger drive.

Because game downloads are huge these days.

One of the great things about having a disc is that you dont feel any hesitation about uninstalling a game you arent currently playing because it doesnt take long to install again.

Downloading a 50GB game takes hours and hours so people tend to keep games on their drives.

Same with PC.

With gamers going more and more digital only, this is why Sony and MS support external drives.

Sure, we could argue that people could just buy external drives and that is a very valid argument............but it also reinforces my point.

I am not a fan of vacuum arguments. A person who would be purchasing a system like this will not be the person with shit internet. If a gamer needs more room for any game they simply uninstall the least played game like they currently do. All games have to be installed on the hard-drive and typically updated after the installation. This fake concern about the size is severely overblown because its not a problem on existing systems and folks who want more storage currently do. Disc drives doesn't negate the fact that all games needs to be installed on the hard-drive.
