I bought the game day one but I discovered it is not my cup of tea .. it focuses a lot on side/mini/super/main boss fights .. that's about it .. the exploration is good at first but after a while it becomes more of the same .. the story is not engaging .. I got bored of it and I don't think I'll play more ..
Completely unnecessary thread simply to bash the Switch. Given the TC I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you. Well not that shocked. 😅
too bad, belden ring is trash, and the switch does have sales. It should be past 105 million units sold by now and closing in on the ps2.
@blaznwiipspman1: 'Bout to be some more with that 7/10 for Switch Sports
true hahaha. Wonder who's going to make that thread. Real shame too, I was looking forward to it.
@girlusocrazy: No one cares about Switch Sports. Just look how dead it’s hype thread is.
I thought you guys bought everything, just didn't actually play them.
@FirstDiscovery: I do, as long as it has the almighty Nintendo on it I preorder it.
Is that why you guys don't care if a port is 20fps at 360p?
One of the best games I've ever played. Was burned out on open world games but the sense of exploration combined with the element of surprise keeps the game fun.
One of the GOAT's.... Easily. Open world as rich with exploration as Breath of the Wild, minimal handholding, next to no immersion breaking cutscenes and horrible video game story telling.... Amazingly complex and engaging combat, skills, incantations, spells.... You can literally be whatever character you'd like through gameplay, not just skins, but actual gameplay choices.
Its a marvelous game. A masterpiece at a time when everything open world feels tired.
Im getting tired of it. I wish the exploration is better. Having the ability to climb or any other mobility options besides "maybe I can fall here" would have been a great edition.
Its like they just took the great parts of Dark Souls and added a lot of land in between.
Loving Elden Ring
More Souls games would be good for Switch, not sure why they only did Dark Souls and nothing else, that's like
Right... I played Dark Souls a lot on Switch. A great mobile port, and the others would have been welcome.
But now its too late, Im gonna finish ER on the Deck... then get back to my DS3 run. I no longer need the switch for 3rd party portable games. Nintendo like always is just too slow.

Don't worry guys... Steam deck has your back. I too loved the dark souls release on switch. Played through the whole game In handheld mode... Waited patiently for ds2 and even ds3.... Crickets.
My steam deck is already loaded with both of those games, plus Sekiro and elden ring... Yatzee!
@TheEroica: You got one on like day 1 of Q2 too... so jelly. I turn into a lunatic now everytime I hear my email notification go off.
Every time Steam emails me that a game on my wishlist is on sale, I lose a bit of lifeforce from the let down.
I was the exact same way.... "mass effect legendary is on sale this week!" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Bastards! Lol I kid, but yeah, I was a lunatic.
Never checked my junk mail so much.
It'll be here soon! Just keep watch!
The last patch FINALLY improved the performance to the point where I feel like its not a distraction anymore (mostly).
so, I've had a bit of a second wind with it after getting past Caelid, had fun exploring Atlus Plateau, some of the underground areas and now going up the mountain towards Volcano Manor.
the challenge is finally ramping up as well which is helping me enjoy it, I felt I was just cruising through it for the most part and was wondering where all these difficult bosses people kept talking about were hiding (with a few exceptions). Valiant Gargoyles and the Full-Grown Shard Beast were actually exciting fights.
was starting to wonder if i'd finish the game but now I think I will.
Good game that would make a great addition to the Switch library. Unfortunately, I never see that happening. I am taking a break from the game right now to play some more lighthearted games, but I am really enjoying it as a souls fan.
I need to jump back into it before I lose my familiarity and/or interest. But enjoying it so far. I just keep hitting exploration walls. Not sure which direction I should be focusing on.
Finished it like three weeks ago. Started NG+ but stopped cause I got bored, way too OP and nothing new ingame, and starting a long ass game like this from scratch feels like a chore. Kinda annoying that NG+ doesn't offer anything interesting like Nioh games or even Dark Souls 2. Don't think I'm touching it again unless there is DLC.
How can this thread still exist while the TC does not encourage a discussion? Saying, "TSHBO" is not encouraging a discussion and is only trolling Nintendo fanboys (if there are still any posting in this forum).
180 hours into Elden Ring - one of the top 3 greatest games of the last 15 years or so.
Still got like 2 main bosses left haha. Will go for the platinum but its taking its sweet time.
I finished Elden Ring a few weeks ago, and now I'm back to playing Switch games (which I'll likely do for the rest of the year, since there are tons of games coming out).
It was good. Certainly not in my top 10 RPGs though. I doubt I'll replay it.
