Front Page Templates

Here is a template which you can use to easily modify and post news. As you can see, when you post an update on the main union page, you are given three fields - a title field, a blurb field and the content field. The blurb field is the one we want to make it look 'nice' so that all the news previews on the main page look consistent with the rest of the page. The blurb field is the one that is displayed on the union main page.

| Square Enix Experience blurb field template | - Just save this file on your pc, modify for your news, copy and paste it on your update.

Note that logos for the games will be provided, but if you don't have a particular one for the game you need right now, you can use this one for everything else:

We'll try and get new logos ASAP when new games get announced.

Here's the index for the logos that we have now. More will be added shortly.

Updating

Also - when posting news, please update the News Feed here in this thread also! You don't have to update the image, I (Yuna) can take care of that, but please do add a new link! Don't forget the date! :P If you forget, any of us can update it too. :)

Something thathas been on the increaselately is huge quote chains, which take up half the page and doesn't look very nice. So, a new rule has been discussed and the number of quote chains will be limited to 4 or 5 at a time. If this limit is over run then your post may be edited. Happy posting! ^^

Yeah, it's just that way the pages dont come increasing long to load for one, and the other is the annoyance of scrolling down the page seeing the same quoted text over and over again. Members got a bit annoyed by this in the past so it's a good idea to have some sort of limit on it, I'm sure posters will know if your still on that topic if you deleted some ;)

Yeah this makes a lot of since I don't really care forscrolling down half a page of quotes. Also I know how it is with load time we had a crazy topic in one of my other unions where it was one long quote and some members computers crashed.

I have a question just for my own information. What consititutes foul language? I may have broken this rule a few times and would like to not violate it if I can help it in the futuredanmccarthy2

Well besides the obvious choice of words - you need to respect and let others have their opinions, which means no bashing. You can choose to agree or disagree, but you can not force your own opinions on others, or something like that. Any help?

Just as a friendly reminder:

I have not left the union as some new members have thought. Yuna and I rotate leadership every 30 days - and so I am still here at SEE and have no intentions of leaving.

Announcement for everyone:

We have a new officer, Reno, who will be available to ask questions of, and will be helping with the collection and posting of news articles on the main page.

I'd like to say thank-you to him for offering his time to better this union :)

SEE is searching for a new officer who is versed in the older Square and Enix games who could write up some editorials, and who could also write up summaries for new SE releases, such as the upcoming Crystal Chronicles game. If anyone is interested, please send me a PM. Photoshop is an asset, but not a requirement. Thanks :)

Hey everyone, I'm pleased to introduce another officer: Odin!! This promotion will allow him to edit posts in the team battle arena, and more effectively keep track of everyone's HP.. and hopefully he'll get so addicted to it that he'll begin helping out in other areas too ;)

Not to detract from anyone welcoming Odin to the team.. but I'd love to hear people's opinions on what sorts of new things they would like to see in the union. Or, if you can't think of anything, then your favourite thing currently present? In this way we can hopefully meet any desires you may have.
