cid was in FF1, well on the GBA version i dunno about the NES version. Cid is in every FF game that i have played even FF 11. and yes there are chocobos in every FF.volumesoxxs

Ya those Cids...As far as I know these r the Cids I've met, and no there aren't any spoilers in here.

In FF V he was a scientist or something, in IV he was also an engineer in Baron, VII hes that badass Cid with the spear, IX hes that monster regent of Lindblum, X he's also the captain of an airship, he's also on The Spirits Within.

Cid wasn't in the earliest one. The original FFI released back in the 80s didn't have Cid. But, subsequent FFs, spin-offs [FF Originas, FFI.II Advance] have Cid mentioned somewhere in the game.

Also, the one in FF: TSW wasn't even Cid... it was Sid. They totally blew off TSW to be a Final Fantasy with that move, i think.

There were Moogles in every FF?  I remember Lulu having a Moogle in FFX as one of her dolls...I guess they made appearances in all of them?

Why is Cid in most, if not all, of the FFs? I guess the creators just like the name, or maybe it's one of the creators name that made a big contribution to the game.

I think because back when Sackaguchi had control over the series the games never had direct sequels and every game had a unique game world. Because of this I think they introduced little traditions like Cid, moogles and chocobos in order to tie together a series of games which were otherwise different from one another.
