Spring Training is beginning and a new season is just around the corner. I love baseball, so I can't wait. How about you? How does your favorite team stack up on paper and do they have a good shot at making the playoffs?

I just hope that all of these steroid scandals will be put where they should be...in the past, and the focus will be on what it should be: the great game of baseball!

haha, ok I will. The Jays have the hardest division in baseball with the yanks and sox. Chances of them winning the east is slim.

The Angels have a really solid team this year...you should be excited. It should be a good race between them and the Mariners for the Division Title.

They really must go for the division too, because the wild card will be tough to get with the Yanks, Sox, Tigers, Indians, M's, and Angels all having great teams in the same league.

lol yeah stinks for my Cardinals too. The Reds are virtually unbeatable now. I mean the addition of Dusty Baker adds at least 30 wins to the Reds season.

Yeah that should be a tight race, but I'll give the edge to the Mets as of now.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the young pitching holds up for the Bronx Bombers. I think they'll be glad they kept Philip Hughes. He's a future ace imo.

I for one cannot wait. I love the doggydays of summer, nothing beats going to a baseball game on a hot summers day. I hope my Yanks can win it all this year in the last year in the most historic ballpark in the world. The last game at the stadium should be of the Yankees celebrating thier 27th world series title.

I'm looking forward to this year more than usual because i signed up again for the Blue crew fan club :) $25 and they're giving away a bunch of junk and 6 ticket vouchers, which were usually for the reserved level (now $20 each). The Dodgers have had another year of renovations to the stadium so i want to check that out. Tickets are more expensive, but this year they should be having 3 fireworks shows since they're away on the 4th which means i have time to shoot mine off at home :) We got Joe Torre as well. (I'll try to keep my expectations low)

As of now, I would definitely say that the Tigers have the most complete team not only in the American Leauge, but in all of baseball. But even so, I would not be the least bit surprised to see them miss the playoffs due to the tremendous strength of the American League.

With the Yanks, Sox, Indians, Tigers, Angels, and M's all vying for playoff spots, obviously two or more strong clubs will have to miss October. (All three division races and the wild card spots should be close and could possibly come down to the last day of the season)

However, the Tigers and Mets are my current preseason picks to reach the World Series. (Probably will change in the future, but as of now this is how I stand)

You have no idea. I eat, sleep, and dream baseball. I bought my season-ticket mini plan in November, which includes every Dodgers game in San Diego (I'm an LA fan living in SD). Opening day is only 5 weeks away!

What's mini-plan? And how much were the season tickets? You wouldn't believe the Yankees price.

Call me crazy if you wish, and I could be very, very wrong on this one, but I think that Jacoby Ellsbury is way overrated. As of now, I think his trade value is as high as it will ever be. Sure, his performance at the end of last season and in the playoffs was astonishing, but I think he will have a lot of trouble adjusting to the bigs this year.

At best, I figure Ellsbury will be a .275 to .280 hitter with a max of 15 HR and around 70 RBI.

Had I been Theo Epstein, I would not have hesitated to include Ellsbury in a deal to acquire Johan Santana. A rotation anchored by Beckett and Santana, possibly the two best pitchers in the game, wow.

On paper, the Cubs appear to have the best team in the Central, but the Brewers are no too far behind. Even if the Cubbies do make the playoffs, I think they will have a tough time getting past teams like the Mets and D'Backs.

It's just a partial season ticket plan. In my case it was for any 13 Padres' games I wanted to pick. It was about $900 for 2 tickets. The face value is $50/ticket, so I saved about $15/ticket by buying them in a mini-plan.

I think the Giants have a great young rotation with cain, lowry, and lincecum. They could be a real suprise team if they find some offense.

Yeah and even though he way underperformed last year you can't forget about Barry Zito. But still, the D'backs rotation anchored by Webb and Haren is still superior imo. Plus the D'backs have tons of young hitting talent. So I give the Giants a very minimal chance of making the playoffs next year.

Pitching is the name of the game, but you can't win without any offense.
