I really didn't became a pro wrestling fan untill 2013. But I know what is been like before I seen videos in YouTube

Some say 2014 cause of CM Punk leaving. Others say died when Stone Cold stopped fighting/wrestling which was in that Wrestlemania match. And others say 2009 when the PG era started. How bout you when did it die for you?

The WWF (WWE) buying WCW or the death of WCW I think hurt the product.

Although thanks to Botchamania, I got back into watching a little bit of the WWE. Man has the quality dropped.

As an adult stopped watching it and carried on in 2012 watching TNA (wwe was unwatchable it was targeted to children) stopped watching TNA when they went off spike tv.

Old matches, NXT, ROH, etc. Plenty of good wrestling out there. WWE is the biggest product, but it's not all their is. But it is depressing how shockingly bad WWE (main rosters) has become. Reading about them screwing up the Rumble for the second year in a row, and not having the common sense to change course before it's too late like they did last year… ugh. I really hope Seth Rollins cashes in the night after on Raw, I'd much prefer he not win at all, but Vince has a rock solid hard on for Reigns.

Speaking mainly about the main stream wrestling product, the WWE lost its luster when the novelty of buying WCW wore off. The product stayed relatively interesting and compelling well into the 2000's but I stopped being interested after Benoit went on his spree. That didn't effect my interest one way or another though.

The lack of any viable competition has destroyed the WWE. of course there is other wrestling out there but not competitively as say the WCW was to the WWF during the Attitude Era.

Around the time WWE bought WCW.

They dropped the ball with Invasion angle, and then ended up splitting the roster anyway, yet still pushed the same guys they had been pushing for the last ten years.

Triple H has been on top WAY to long, and John Cena being a main eventer for over ten years having the same storylines and fueds recycled over and over finally finished off my interest for good, I'll never go back to being a full time watcher.

@Nuck81: "Around the time WWE bought WCW.

I thought the invasion angle was funny/entertaining. It wasn't taken that seriously because Booker T and RVD was pretty much the main WCW/ECW star and DDP was under used. Sting, Goldberg and Flair would help.

Anyway, for me it died Spring 2002. That's when the name changed and the roster split happen.

I'm a huge DDP mark. I even do DDP Yoga now. But Even DDP admits he came with an attitude and rubbed the WWE people the wrong way.

His first angle with 'Taker was basically a "welcome to WWE" where they stiffed and buried him for 3 months to put him in his place

I think around the time that the Grave Digger started or maybe it was when it started to feel more like a soap opera than wrestling. I miss the days of Sgt. slaughter, iron sheik, zeus...etc.

Never been that interested. The last time I sat down to watch a match was between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. I much prefer watching ball games.

Again funny moments, but DDP should of been in more serious matches with Undertaker.

I had to look it up but the last Wrestlemania that got me interested was Hogan vs Rock in 2002 but I think I stopped really caring for wrestling by or before 2000. My girl did get tickets to a RAW show in 2010 because I told her I always wanted to go to a wrestling event for the first time for my bday. We went and I had no idea what the storylines were and who were still wrestling because I stopped watching but I was happy to see the Undertaker, Shawn Micheals, Kane, Bastisa, Triple H and Jericho were still there. Saw John Cena and CM Punk, I think they were the big Superstars at the time but never really cared for them. I did tune in online for Undertaker vs Brock in 2014 because Brock fought in the UFC which I am a fan of. And when Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak was broken by Brock, that just assured me even more why WWE and wrestling was really dead or just died for me.

I know in the recent WWE video game, Sting appeared and I think he did make an appearance in the show but I don't know if he wrestled or anything since even not Sting making an appearance couldn't get me back into watching. Oh wait, I do remember tuning in when the Ultimate Warrior was inducted in the Hall of Fame because he's one of the greats. Then a few weeks later he died. I bought my first WWE DVD and it was about The Ultimate Warrior, his second DVD not the first DVD where they trashed him. So yeah that's about it. I just tune in usually when something pops up in my social media feeds like Rey Mysterio killing someone or that someone died due to some injury in Mexican wrestling.

It it's dead but if you only watch WWE and not NXT, then I can understand the question. WWE has it's moments of giving great matches but it's buried under the same type of promos and story lines they have been doing for years, i.e America (the hero) vs Russia (the villain). If you watch things like ROH or New Japan Pro Wrestling then it can remind those why it's entertaining.

Maybe when I was......wait, it never appealed to me. Scripted wrestling never entertained me, even when I was little. I've had a blissful 34 years without having ever watched it.

I totally understand. I was never an avid watcher of it. I dated a woman in the early 90s that loved it so I tuned in with her and that was the first since "Superfly" Snooka/Hulk Hogan/ Roddy Piper days of the early to mid 80s. It is also the last I have watched of it LOL

I stopped caring for wrestling when John Cena became WWE's golden boy and was given countless title reigns thus burying anyone else from holding the gold. Even when WCW died, I felt that was the final nail in the coffin for wrestling. There's TNA but I didn't get into them until they aired on Spike TV.

I don't understand why people get so upset when others say they watch wrestling. Yes, it's scripted much like most forms of entertainment and nobody denies that, so why do wrestling haters get so polarised about it?

For me, I used to watch as a kid/teenager because of the high flyers and stopped watching when they all pretty much died off because watching guys twisting each other's limbs on the mat didn't interest me; seems like there's been a few new high flyers who are interesting like Neville though.

My real name is Neville =(

Well I haven't been a fan since it was last called WWF. WWE era sucks. With that said though, I will always respect the men and women who participates in the ring. Yeah its scripted, but unlike movies, they do their own stunts and its not pain free.

Once Hulk Hogan was out, it was just a matter of time. WWF was the bomb back then. If was ok when the Rock, and Tripple H were in, i did watch it a bit, but it was just for fun. I don't know the exact year, but was long ago.

No, not saying that. The question is, when did it die for me. Its most likely died due to my life getting busy as a teen. I started to watch it like when i was 10 or so, long ago. My grandma used to watch it, so i also watched it. Lucha Libre ! But it was just fun back then. MY life got busy, cars, girls, money, had no time for tv for years. Now my life is tv, lol .. That was just the era wrestling died for me, after hulk hogan left. I watched it while he remained champion, but i believe he retired from wrestling at some point. He was the end of an era for me. WWF was the bomb.

@LexLas: Hogan left WWF around 1993 and joined WCW in 1994. Why didn't you watch his WCW run? Especially his NWO run in 1996. That 1996 year sparked the Monday Night Wars which generated billions.

By your comments, I assume you're in your 40s?

I only really watched wrestling from about 1999-2005 and just kinda stopped. I have friends that continue to watch it and keep me informed but it just doesn't do anything for me anymore. I do watch some old matches online though.
