Both lineups are deep. The Cards have the best hitter in Pujols but the Rangers have the deeper lineup IMO.

The Series starts this Wednesday on Fox in a pure 2-3-2. With only 2 off days, between games 2 and 3 and games 5 and 6, for travel. Just how a like it. No crappy 2-2-1-1-1, no countless off day for TV scheduling sake.

I'm going to give it to the Rangers in six, although I think the key factor is pitching. Neither team pitched all too well in either Conference Series, especially the Cardinal starters where only one of them made it through the fifth inning. They'll have to pitch better to keep the Rangers bats in check.

I could see STL go up 2-0, as Carp is better than Wilson, and Garcia is very good at home (when he gets to pitch more than 4.2 innings). I think one of them loses though.

I see the Rangers in 6.

They would be favored if their starting pitching wasn't so bad.

Yeah, since my Giants won last year and I have no issues with the Rangers, I hope the Rangers win. I think they can do it in 6 games.

Pitching? What's pitching? This series is loaded with Mashers all around :D On one hand i want Raffy to get a ring, on another i don't want Dotel and Theriot to get one............lol, so i have to go with the Antlers getting one on their second try!

As the DH goes, with the NL is the same story: they can substitute the pitcher spot for their most capable bench bat plus can DH Berkman and have an upgrade in right field. Rangers have no problem with not having a DH, Napoli is their usual DH but he has been catching a lot so he will do that, Young plays 1st and Moreland goes to the bench.

They'll split the first two in St. Louis, and then the Rangers sweep all three in Arlington. Texas in 5.

Let it be know for the record that, just before the first pitch, the poll reflected that 79% thought the Rangers would win.

Hope the Cards win and CJ Wilson pitches terribly. It will lower his market value and make it easier for the Yankees to buy him during the offseason.

It's too late for a prediction, but I like a team like the Cardinals who get hot at the right time. Just feels like a magic carpet ride similar to the SF Giants run last year.

I love whenever Napoli does something, Jays fans are like "Oh my god, why'd we get rid of him, he's awesome and would have really helped." No...no he wouldn't.

Cards clinch game 1. And by the way, that ball hit the guy's foot so it should've been called foul...not out.

Yeah, it's a tough pill to swallow, but sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way. Either way, I'd blame the loss on Wash for overthinking his pinch hitter situation in the 7th. Murph should have hit, Gentry or Torrealba should have pinched for Ogando. Easy for me to say, of course, with nothing at stake...

I'm a little late, but man, Rzepcynzki is amesome. Facing lefties or righting, no one can hit him.

What a comeback by the Rangers. Not good managing this game by TLR. Why pull Motte needing a K on a injured Hamilton? Why bring Lynn and not Dotel in?

Wow. Look at that interview by Bob Costas with Bud Selig. Costas is GRILLING Selig, very close to being disrespectful but I guess he is friends with the commissioner and so he can get away with it. My point is: you NEVER see this kind of hard, incisive interview with Stern or Goddell; specially in this "state of the league" interviews which occur before League's play their championships.

That was a killer loss for the Cards. The kind of heart breaking loss that can kill that 'Magic carpet ride' type of vibe they had.

The last 16 of 18 Game 3 winners in a 1-1 World Series have gone on to win it all.
