Congrats to the Dominicans on their win, 3-0 against PR, so no point in arguing. Proud of my squad, and now lets get ready for the MLB season to start. Master_Live

Well that was odd, i thought the teams who were off for like a week would play first and we'd end up with a Japan-DR final but whatever.........surprised it to the Dominicans so long to win one. As they say they won with their "JV team" ^ Reminds me of the article on Tony Pena Joe Po wrote and then in the comments someone says "He stepped down from the Royals cause he cheated on his wife with another married woman" I don't think race is the problem, people just come from dysfunctional environments and don't get any help, like in my case, but i will admit it does seem like a lot of Mexicans around here are ghetto.

Hanley out 8 weeks

Chapman to go back to the bullpen

What an absolutely disastrous decision by the Reds. SOB Dusty Baker needs to be put out of his misery. Hey Dusty, you know why starting pitchers get $100 million contracts and relievers do not? BECAUSE STARTERS ARE MORE VALUABLE. They can pitch 6 innings or a complete game, relievers are dime a dozen. And Chapman F-U too, guy with no initiative, "I wanna be a closer", fine, so be it.

On the plus side, this makes it harder for  Baker to destroy Chapman's arm.

Angels are picking much of the tab, Yanks have been ravage by injuries and Cashman and Co. have been right on target keeping the payroll under 189 mill for next year so they can reset the tax hit. So lets be fair.

Wainwright extend with Cards.Master_Live

Seems risky for a guy who hasn't really pitched like an ace since 2010.  But if he returns to ace form this season, his price on the open market next winter could have been higher, so I guess you could describe it as a calculated risk for St Louis.

One would hope so. I have little faith he will. Been a .270 hitter the last 3 years, I don't see him getting to even that when he returns. All depends on his ego, if he truly is convinced he has a shot at the HR record, he'll stick around. Still got 5 years left on his deal and only 108 away from Aaron. $114 million is too much to pass up on too.

Yep, and he would get no credit if he actually retired (not that he should) unlike, lets say, someone like Jeter who would be praised endlessly if he did something of the sort.

In a perfect world, I would want Jeter to move over to third and make A-Roid the everyday DH, if he's productive. Jeter has lost a step, but still getting it done at the plate. If Jeter were to retire after this season, continuing his recent success, he would be lauded for going out 'on top'. So many athletes linger long past their expiration date, and tarnish their reputation. I see #13 sitting at the top of that list soon.

They really need to develop better infield prospects. Most of their talent is in the OF.

I do think the Marlins will suck, but Miami News Times has ZERO credibility. What horrible writing and journalism. Apparently the only important thing about a baseball player is homeruns, rbis, and batting average according to the author. What a frigging joke...

What a start to the Marlins' year! One day before the start of the season we put 2/5 of our starting rotation on the DL with shoulder injuries (Nathan Eovaldi and Henderson Alvarez). Add to the fact Jacob Turner was sent down to the minors for sucking in ST and basically 3/5 of the projected starting rotation will be out for awhile. Ironically, those are the 3 pitchers we got back in trades last year. We sure know how to pick em! 110 losses here we come!

On the bright side, Jose Fernandez (one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball) will be called up to start against the Mets next Sunday.

Because Astros are moving to the AL, sort of getting them welcome and started in the right track. Plus this is suppose to be a "rivalry" game.

I don't understand why everyone doesn't just open on the same day.  The first game could be at noon in Washington D.C., so that the next 14 games could be stacked from there with all games beginning no later than 4:15 local time.  That or play 14 during the day/early evening and have a night cap on national TV.

Fact! Yah know what, i'm kinda tired of hearing about the Marlins, how many other teams can say they have two WS titles in the past 20 years? They're fine, they shouldn't win another one for a while anyway and let the Cubs win one.

CC was laboring today, 86-89 on his fastball for most of the day but was able to creep to 92-93 a couple of times. 5 innings, 102 pitches.

In a 12 team league you could had gotten Kershaw at the end of the 1st round, early 2nd plus get King Felix in the 3rd since some people were weary of reports about some elbow discomfort.

Well MLB shouldnt do that considering there is a million games that need to be played in 162 season. There should of been more than one game before the Sunday night game.
