Well my Kings are set to open up tomorrow in Vancouver, expectations are higher now for the youngest roster in the NHL :D Some even think they will take the division from the Sharks. They didn't go out and get a sniper in Kovalchuk but quite frankly that deal was insane and i would prefer to pass up on the guy, plus i heard he isn't so great on defense.

Yay, the Leafs won a game!:P If they can show that kind of effort every night, like great goaltending and goals from every line, they'll fight for the 8th spot. Only one game, but it's better than last year so far.

Avs looked pretty good their first game, the team is fast.. My main concern isn't with the offense but the so-so D which seemed to carry over from last year. They allow too many odd man rushes and are out of position a lot; hopefully Anderson is up the challenge again.

I gotta go with Detroit. They're rested, very motivated, and this is probably Lidstrom's swan song. I don't think our defense is TERRIBLE, but on paper the Sharks' defense doesn't seem Cup calibur.

Rangers Rookie Derek Stepan in his first NHL game has a Hat Trick after 2 periods against the Sabres. Rangers have an interesting mix with a lot of young players this year. 5-2 Rangers with 6 minutes left in 3rd period

I have faith in my Hawks repeating. But seriously the Caps?

Ovechkin is a joke, where the hell is the penguins? They deserve to be on there more than the Caps.

Pens have played two games and outplayed their opponents in every aspect of the game except scoring. They had Montreal on the ropes tonight, but two goals in under a minute and that's that.

Oh my god, the Leafs are 3-0:o:lol:

It took them untill November 6th to get 2 wins last year:lol: MacArthur looks really good, and our goaltening has been great. Gustavsson saved the game for us tonight. That's what they lacked last year, the big save, winning battles in the corners, penalty kill and secondary scoring, and there getting all that, only 1 PP goal given up.

Guess Favre isn't the only diva?? Kings are holding the fort while Doughty gets back from injury, the team is looking promising with 5 wins already, they were #1 in the West last year at the break and then nosedived, so we'll see...........

The Kings are scary, they have a good farm system to dip into in case any of their full timers gets hurt. But they'll only go so far without their top defenseman in Drew Doughty.

Thomas has just been a beast so far. If he plays this well all season and Rask improves to where he was at when the Bruins were up 3-0, yea they could. Rask hasn't won since then.

I love how Oregon, the Raiders, the Rams, the Chargers, the Clippers are all in the ESPN/LA headlines, while the Kings have the most points in the NHL (without Doughty as well), are actually from L.A. and get nothing.

I'd loved Tuukka on the Leafs, like he should be. Ugh, that was an awful deal the JFJ did.

Oh, and the Leafs suck. They have to call up Kadri to help them. I hope Wilson is fired. And soon.

Probably:lol: I really like him, but I don't think he's ready just yet. He isn't going to solve anything, even if he is our best prospect.

But 10 straight losses? That's really bad.

I really hope the next firing is Wilson. Might be the Devils coach though, Lamoriello is never shy to pull the trigger.

Great comeback win by the Leafs last night. 2 by Versteeg..hopefully that gives him, and the team, some confidence. Looks like Giguere will be out for 1-2 weeks. This is Gustavsson's chance to shine.

NHL lost a legend yesterday. Pat Burns passed away from cancer, at the age of 58.

He was reported dead a couple months ago, to which he told Bob McKenzie "Tell them I'm alive". He had been battling cancer in the colon and liver in 2004, then learned it spread to his lungs and was incurable a year ago.

He coach the Bruins, Leafs, Canadians and Devils and won the Cup in 2003 with the Devils and lost the Cup final in his first year in 1988-1989. He made the playoffs 11 of is 14 years of coaching, and only missed 2 of those 3 times because he was fired. He won the Jack Adams Trophy 3 times with 3 different teams. It's a real shame he isn't a Hall of Famer, which he should be.

R.I.P:(

What's odd though, is that he was VERY popular amongst the players and the media. So I don't know why he isn't in if it's a popularity contest.

Well it turned into 14 straight...but the Oilers have as much talent as the Islanders, especially in the youthful kind. And they didn't dump their coach and they're right at the bottom in the standings.

Why would someone (or something) do such a thing as this:

Pat Burns' widow had her car broken into, and many items were stolen.

Just..wow.

And the Leafs suck, more then I thought. They get a great performance from Gustavsson, 39 saves, and are up 3-1 with 8 minutes left, and lose 4-3 in OT because of a bad pass by Schenn in OT and sloppy effort with under 30 seconds left in regulation. Schenn's been great all year..but that's just awful.

I really hope that Rogers does buy a majority of MLSE like what's being reported. I don't know what it does for the fans, or the Leafs really other than all the games for the Leafs, Raptors, FC and Marlies will be on their channels. And sicne it has a cap, they can't do what they do with the Blue Jays (yes, they own them too) and put money into it. They could own every major ports team in Toronto, and runs the Bills in Toronto Series.

WOOOOT! OT 3-2 breakaway on a poked turnover by Martinez, gets it to Kopi game over! :D I love Bob!! "In the 90s the Red Wings had some bad seasons and you didn't see as many red jerseys in the arena" Haha There was a disgusting half-wing half-King atrocity right behind the bench, somebody needs to get smacked.
