Discuss the 2010-2011 NBA Regular Season:D
This topic is locked from further discussion.
You should just make this the official 2010 NBA season thread.
But yeah, I'm incredibly excited for this season. I'm also pretty sure I won't get any school work done this week because of all the games on TV. :P
im excited and optimistic this year for my team. a healthy yao, improved aaron, dominant scola,etc... can really help us make some noise this year. just please stay healthy this year yao. an opening night win against the champs wont be a bad way to start the season off either.
A single thread for a whole season? That's ambitious, especially since there will be at least 4 or 5 threads per week for the NBA on various subjects (I should know, I've done my share). But that's not a bad idea, if, as I said, somewhat ambitious, to concentrate general talk about the NBA in one thread.
That being said, I'm very hyped up for this season, which will be very interesting and might be the last one for a while (since there will be, in all likelihood, a lockout in 11-12).
I'm excited for the season to start, but this season won't be the same. The Cavs haven't had a bad team since I was a little kid, but I'm interested to see how they are able to play in tomorrow's game and the season.LTomlinson21I'm having trouble getting excited about their season. I've starting following the Calgary Flames heavily and I think they'll replace the Cavs as the team I follow on a daily basis during the overlapping NHL/NBA seasons. Hopefully Byron can make them competitive and, you know, at least draw up an offensive play for a change. I'm still hopelessly optimistic for them though.

The Cavs were bad when I started watching them, but LeBron came shortly afterward.
I'm excited to see the revamped Bulls even though they won't be at full strength for a little while. Opening night vs. the Thunder should be an interesting matchup. JML897Me too. I don't get why the team is being so hushed about Boozer's injury. It is weak way to go out if it is in fact true. But should we be concerned if no one wants to comment on it? I think I'm just buying into the media hype. I hope that fool comes back soon.

Damn straight
Y'all gotta fight the Knicks to get it. :x
thanks houston for letting this team back in the game with all the turnovers.smh we should be killing this the lakers. at least yao had a productive game. once he gets back conditioned the rockets will be even better. we need his inside d to be an even better team this year.
Tough loss for the Rockets.
Love to see these teams duke it out again in the playoffs. Good hard-nosed basketball.
Oh man the Lakers-Rockets game had a great ending

Not really, well for the Lakers ya cause they won (which Im happy about since I was rooting for them) but that last play by the Rockets was garbage. Its like what were they thinking? If they in-bounded to someone for a 3 it might of gone in and the Rockets would of had a buzzerbeater win.
Plus if your a Rockets fan you have to ask why does their coach keep putting Shane Battier on Kobe? He simply canNOT guard him (not that anyone really can). He couldn't in the playoffs the year before so what makes him think he can now? When the Lakers needed to score Kobe got an "and 1"...and who was guarding him? Shane Battier.
Wow at Blake Griffin.
I swear, it looks like this guy is on a pogo stick the way he's just slamming down putbacks and grabbing boards.

...are you serious? Shane Battier is their best man to man defender, even in his old age.

Its nothing personal against Shane. Im just saying that he can't guard him. Couldn't in the playoffs and still can't. As a coachI would try mixing it a bit and try something different.

I'm pretty sure most Lakers fans will tell you that Battier gaurds Kobe as good as anyone in the league.
^Shane Battier can guard Kobe as well as the best in the league. bobcheeseball
Well yeah, that's what I meant. :P

Ya well like I said before no one can really gaurd him. Its Kobe were talking about here. Just saying it doesn't hurt to try new things.

True but there are a handful of players who can actually frustrate him and make things tougher for him than everybody else that guards him i.e. Bruce Bowen, Shane Battier, Thabo Sefolosha, Matt Barnes(formerly), and Raja Bell.Blake Griffin looks sick, he has some mad hops. I wish Greg Oden was able to play tonight, but hopefully he'll be good to go in the next couple of months.LTomlinson2113 and 6 and its not even half time!
Holy crap at Blake Griffin. Hopefully he doesn't get injured again. He's so active in every play I get worried every time he jumps so high

He's pretty fearless out there. You'd think after suffering such a severe injury he'd be a little timid but that's definitely not the case lol.
In other news, Brandon Roy is a bad dude. Looking like he's in mid-season form already.
