And why is ESPN covering it? Slow news day?

More of a sport than Hunting...No_Hablo_InglesI'm not a hunter but you have to be kidding. Anyways, I feel bad for a lot of these kids. You can tell most of them are really, really awkward socially. I'm sure they'll grow out of it(Who wasn't awkward when they were a teen?) and those brains they have will lead them to great careers anyway so no biggie.
They've been doing it for years. Why question it now? ESPN has cheerleading competitions, bowling, fishing. soooo why not spelling? lololol

All of those are more sports than spelling. >_>They've been doing it for years. Why question it now? ESPN has cheerleading competitions, bowling, fishing. soooo why not spelling? lololol

It's not, but the E in ESPN stands for entertainment, and while one could debate if watching kids spell words is entertaining, that's the justification they could use. Now, not to sound racist about the whole thing, but can someone please explain to me what it is with Indians? I know that generally speaking Indian parents are extremely concerned with academic performance, and frankly many times they're just smarter than the average person. But 5 straight spellings bees for a race that has population about the size of Iowa is down right insane, and clearly not fluke, yet the odds seem astronomical.

Bullet- 500 ft/sec Boar- 30 mph Advantage: Bullet.Miami Heat - LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh
Charlotte Bobcats - Gerald Henderson, DJ Augustin, Bismack Biyombo
Advantage: Heat
And that's still considered a sport.

The Bobcats know they are playing and can prepare according with gameplans, plays, etc..., unlike an animal being shot over 100 feet away with a projectile going over 400 mph...To me, in order for something to be considered a sport, both sides have to know they are playing...[QUOTE="No_Hablo_Ingles"][QUOTE="-Halftime-"] I'm not a hunter but you have to be kidding. Where have you been? It's covered every year. Stop living under that giant piece of cheese. And why is ESPN covering it? Slow news day?

Poker's not a sport either. That game is base on pure luck. I don't call chess one either.same as chess or poker... you play with your mind instead of your muscle.

Hippy? No. I'm not against some hunting either, as long as the 'hunters' aren't using technology that would take any skill away from how our ancestors did it when it was life or death, not for the amusement of killing animals (Pretty sure I am setting myself up here since I am a Eagles fan... but whatever, cross that bridge when/if it comes). http://www.futureoftech.msnbc.msn.com/technology/futureoftech/smart-bullet-ready-leave-lab-hit-target-more-1-mile-795153 Yeah, a laser-guided bullet that can travel over a mile, and maneuver around objects.... takes more talent to spell huipil. The boar really doesn't know considering he doesn't cheat carrying a high powered scoped rifle, doesn't he? Unless you're telling me that you're going up with your bare hands against a boar, then you have a point, until then, you are wrong. Agreed. Nohablosports has always been a smelly f*** hippy. Now it makes sense. What a f**** lib.
But they can't carry a game of the Cup?X360PS3AMD05That has more to do with the NHL than ESPN. NHL sold the rights to NBC again for a long time. ESPN put a bid in to air NHL games but the NHL stuck with their crappy TV partners.

I would imagine even if ESPN had a lower overall offer, being on ESPN for the entireity of the series would be better than being on a Network which devotes half its programming to hunting and fishing shows for two games.
