Just finished watching the Wings play the Sharks. I have seen many bad calls but this one is one of the worst.

Midway in the third period the Sharks shoot a puck that is deflected into the netting above the glass. None of the referees calls it and then the puck magically appears in front of the net where the Sharks score. It's even worse because that changed the outcome of the game. The game should have gone into overtime but instead ended due to an illegal goal.

What kind of oddball plays have you seen where the refs seem to be looking away?

I didn't end up seeing it but it makes me upset my Wings are going through a major slump right now and this sort of bad luck is something they do not need to keep on happening.

The game ended like 2 hours ago so watch youtube, random sports channel that cares to put hockey highlights on (screw you ESPN) and you should see it tomorrow. The puck was at least 2 yard above the glass. Pretty ridiculous they didn't see it.

The Sharks are my favorite team so I'm glad that we finally get a bounce, it counted, and we get our 4th win ever at the Joe lol. However, everyone has to agree that the call was TERRIBLE. It's amazing how 4 refs completely blew the call. It's not even physically possible for the puck to just come pretty much straight down after a deflected slapshot. I totally understand any complaints that Wings have for about one night, but then they should just let it go. Bad calls are a part of hockey, and the Red Wings get away with so many minor calls it's ridiculous.

Thats just awful. Refs gotta wake up and open their eyes. That was an important call they missed, since it was the deciding factor.

Doesn't the NHL use instant replay?

Why didn't they review the goal?

Whether the puck went out of play isn't reviewable.

Something tells me next year it will be reviewable :)
