Here's an interesting topic for discussion.

Despite the fact that devs love to moan and whine about how their watered down ports and shovelware don't sell on Nintendo hardware when going up against polished and well made Mario and Zelda games, Sega has seen that Sonic sells best on Nintendo platforms. They basically stated that games like the port of Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic Colors and the 2 Olympic games were all huge sellers for Sega. Of course the handhelds also did well with the Advance and Rush games.
But this brings up a few questsions:
1) If Sonic does so well on Nintendo platforms, why didn't Wii/WiiU owners get Sonic Generations?
2) Ok Sega, how about releasing Sonic CD, Sonic the Fighters and Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 for the WiiU and get Knuckles Chaotix while you're at it.
3) Not Sonic releated, but why didn't the WiiU get the Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion HD remake? Disney games do well on Nintendo platforms Sega?
Also publishers and developers need to get smart when it comes to Nintendo hardware. It's primary audience is kids and there's nothing wrong with that and just because a game is made for kids, is not an excuse to do a half assed job. Sega was doing this for a long time with some of their games figuring "Kids are stupid and they'll buy anything." This worked for a while but soon, sales were dropping. Case in point Sonic and the Black Knight's dismal first month's sales not even hitting 100,000.
So this is probably a sign that it will be a while before Sonic shows up on the Xbone or PS4 and if you hate Nintendo and love Sonic...well...sucks to be you.
