Best villain on Sonic

As we have seen lately, many different villains have taken the place of Eggman on the new games.. Here you can discuss which you found to be the best. It can be the classic (Robotnik), the coolest (Metal Sonic), the evilist (Mephiles), or the others.

Personal vote: Metal Sonic

I would have to say Robotnik (He's only called Eggman in the newer games since Sonic Adventure (that name was introduced then))...

Metal Sonic comes up at a close second...

Every other villain in the history of Sonic...

Shadow in Sonic Adventure 2 because he was the evil double in that who was using Eggman to exact his revenge on humanity. I wish Shadow had stayed the enemy of Sonic instead of being the Batman to Sonic's Superman like he is now.kbaily

I say the Metallix. (In the comics these are Metal Sonics and Metal Knuckles')

Out of all his enemies these seem to cause the most problems.

Mephiles, because, like Sephiroth, he has the power to manipulate everyone through time and mind control, not to mention the fact that he is the only one to kill the main protagonist of the game. :Pangeldeb82

I've been a fan of the older stuff and I'm going off of the TV series, I'd say SATAM Robotnik was my favorite because I loved the way he was portrayed. An evil dictator that would stop at nothing to crush any resistance against him and Snively was awesome as well since he provided the comic relief.

Snivley wasn't really a good villain though. He was more of a snivelling minion. Satam Robotnik was awesome though, unlike the Robotnik of The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Robotnik of AOSTH was awesome in his own way, but yeah I wish Sega would portray Robotnik more like his SATAM counterpart in the games.

definitely chaos, though he was more of an angry guardian then a villain but still the second coolest sonic character after knuckleschaos-knuckles

Chaos is probably my 3rd favorite villain from Sonic, beated up only by Robotnik (not Eggman, he screwed up the old evil scientist) and Metal Sonic

Yes, he was the blue, water-like creature that broke out of the Master Emerald and grew when he was fed Chaos Emeralds.

Ok, who is that guy? sorry, the only series I watched was Sonic X (even when it was crap) and a bit of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, I'm no old enough to have watched those series

You should definitely watch SatAM sometime, just for a different perspective because while not really having a ton to do with the games, the writing is good and the characters well developed and Robotnick is a good threatening villian in it.

Ixis Naugus was Robotnik's mentor in SATAM and Robotnik himself feared Naugus and when he discovered the Void, he decided to explore it and Robotnik ended up double crossing Naugus and locking him up in the Void. He does get out thanks to Sonic, but he learns that he can't survive outside of the Void and has to return along with King Acorn.

Sonic Satam is definitely worth watching. If you read the Archie comics, it's based on those. As for Sonic Underground, it is horrible. Sonic has siblings and they play musical instruments.

I always loved the way Knuckles taunted Sonic in 3 it was great.

It made him the ultimate ahole as well, but in a good way.
