Who's more dominant in arcade gaming?

OP: in arcade gaming facilities,it's all a lot like an average convention center for gaming nerds and geeks desires,there are those who said only a boy or a man would play these games and those who said the opposite,so who do you encounter the most when playing the arcades?

I chose either...they're all equal as long as they can give a fair play in the game

Male easily. Never saw any female plays any Arcade games during my life time in the arcades.

@davillain-: sure...back then there were only a handful of fighting,shooter,car games to which only boys like these,in my area back then,there were both girls and boys playing the arcade games together

@Smashbrossive50: I guess it depends on were you live but during my arcade days, all of my friends were males who we go to arcades after school and we did see girls in arcades but they never bother to play any games as far as I can remember, they were just there because there boyfriends were there.

There are still arcades ?

@davillain-:I live in Indonesia,no matter what romantic status are shown,they're still coming for it,I enjoy the arcades as if it's the only tool for playing with more than 2 players,consoles like PS1 didn't have this perk(I'm aware of GameCube's similar capability,but I don't have it)

just to let you know...this poll was inspired by a thread at GD,with the "logic" of why there are more female gamers than male gamers,I wanted to say arcade,but somehow that ain't gonna happen in the ever-growing gaming trend discussed there,so I decided if that "logic" is valid here in RG

@thehig1: should've got it preserved and runnin',so younger generations will learn where do all of the video games originates

@thehig1: I was expecting low attention span,oh well,both do count as a means of silent extinction,people these days should know better,what good is a video game if the arcades are no longer a part of it?

@Smashbrossive50: probably low attention span...which resulted in less players and less $$$ being made so they closed.

There some arcades in UK but they are far and few between and dominated with slots machines more than anything else

@thehig1: so they're reborn as a gambling machine...should've seen it in either Vegas,Macau,or Singapore...the third chose to keep them vintage arcades as if it's made for kids and teens alike(I remember my recent visit to that place,there's still an arcade center in Bugis Junction,Singapore,I saw the same amount of equality between boys and girls)

Japan is the only place I've ever seen other girls in arcades, there was still more men overall but the girls there seemed to really like the rhythm games.

There are no arcades hardly. And the ones there are just have little kids playing.

@Smashbrossive50: Yeah in the arcade mostly slot machine arcades there at least 50% female, but playing slot machines not arcade games.

There still is a small arcade in Southport( a small resort town not far from Liverpool were I live)

It has games like time crisis, out run and Sega rally.

you mean one of those kiddie rides? yeah,there's a reason why arcades include them...large,about the size of an actual Harley-Davidson

Neither. Arcades are more of a date/movie thing now. Arcades are not even dominated by videogames anymore.

Interesting poll. I was expecting choices between Sega, Namco, Capcom and Konami.

I ment video game arcades. There aren't many. In the two malls around here they each have a small area with a couple old games. In the bowling alley they again have mostly the prize machines. When I went to a indoor waterpark a few months ago they had a pretty big arcade probably 75% was ticket or prize machines but they still had the biggest selection of newer games I had seen in years it was pretty cool.

Yeah, I can see that. It is just shame that everything in videogames has to be about feminism and LGBT these days. I remember when gaming was about good games.

@RossRichard: and that's why I made this poll,in your arcade days.. do you see men more often than female or the other way around or both?
