Replace the Screen Lens of a Nintendo Game Boy Light

I got a super cheap deal on a rarer, Japanese Nintendo Game Boy Light but the screen is kind of scratched up. I have seen a lot of replacement Screen Lens on eBay fairly cheap and I was wondering if I will hurt the value (because it is not all original) of this by replacing the screen lens?
