I love my GBA. I got it maybe 6 months ago. I remember my friend having it about 8 years ago and I always wanted one but never got it. I didn't realize how much I love my GBA when I first got it, but now I just absolutely love it. I was wondering what are the best games for it? I'm also thinking about getting Pokemon Leaf Green or Emerald (Which one or both?).

GBA is my favorite console so I could go on but, here are a few must plays:

Mario Vs. Donkey Kong - My favorite Mario game ever. Great combination of puzzle solving and platforming.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones - Never played the first one but this is an awesome strategy RPG.

Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - Just about as good as any of the top down Zelda games. This one is definitely the best for GBA and, yes, I include the A Link to the Past remake.

Klonoa / Klonoa 2 - Another great couple of puzzle platformers. I actually like these much better than the ones for PlayStation.

  • Metroid Fusion
  • Metroid Zero Mission
  • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
  • Sonic Advance 1 & 2
  • Mega Man Zero 1-4
  • Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
  • A Link to the Past + Four Swords
  • The Minish Cap
  • Gunstar Super Heroes
  • Klonoa 2
  • Mario Advance
  • Mario Tennis: Power Tour
  • Advance Wars 1-2
  • Golden Sun
  • Final Fantasy VI
  • Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure
  • DBZ: The Legacy of Goku II
  • DBZ: Buu's Fury
  • DBZ: Supersonic Warriors

The Pokemon games are pretty much all the same, so you can't go wrong with any of them. If you love gen one, go with Fire Red or Leaf Green, but get Emerald if you want to play something from gen 3 since it has more content than Ruby and Sapphire.

Both of those Pokemon games are good, pick which ever gen you're more interested in.

As for my favorite GBA games:
Advance Wars 1-2
Fire Emblem/FE Sacred Stones
Metroid: Zero Mission/Fusion
Super Mario Advance 1-4
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis
Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon
Astro Boy: Omega Factor
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon/Harmoy of Dissonance/Aria of Sorrow
Drilldozer
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Minish Cap
Gunstar Super Heroes
Final Fantasy Advance IV-VI
Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure

Lots of great GBA titles.

Does the pope shit in the woods?

...and by that I mean, yes Advance Wars is good. The two GBA ones are very similar, so I say buy whichever one you find cheaper. There's really no reason to get both though, unless you finish one and don't feel like replaying it but want more.

What you should get both of are the Warioware games as they are fantastic and have very different play mechanics. Warioware: Twisted has a gyroscopic sensor in it, which makes for a large and cumbersome game cartridge but an excellent game.
