The White House science office listed "ending the COVID-19 pandemic" as the top accomplishment of President Trump's first term, even as the U.S. has set records for new daily infections and numerous hospitals across the country are stretched to their breaking points.

According to a press release intending to highlight the administration's science accomplishments, the Trump administration said it "has taken decisive actions to engage scientists and health professionals in academia, industry, and government to understand, treat, and defeat the disease."

The rosy outlook flies in the face of reality, and underscores the efforts of Trump to continuously try to downplay the severity of the pandemic that continues to rage nearly uncontrolled across the country.

Think about all the wars led by the US they always claim success, bringing peace and freedom but yet in reality it’s the opposite.

Think about the thousands of deformed babies and thousands deaths caused by the two US nuclear bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bombs dropped despite the war was pretty much over.

Think about the thousands of people in Vietnam suffering from the effects of Agent Orange to this day. Thousands of deformed babies contaminated. Another success! ??

Literally millions over 37 million people displaced by the US war on terror! Again, apparently this was good for the Iraqis, the Afghans, the Libyans and the Syrians...

Not to mention the thousands dead fleeing Libya that drowned in the Mediterranean Sea!! And those precious and highly sought after juicy red prawns... yep they feed on the dead bodies!

Yep America really respects “human rights,” and brings “peace to the world.”

So this denial by Trump is nothing new, it has always been like this.

Ended implies it’s over while ending means actions are ongoing TO end it. I don’t think there’s an administration on the planet that wouldn’t admit to ‘ending’ the pandemic.

To clarify: if you have a section called "Highlights" it implies everything is past-tense, and underneath it says "Ending the COVID pandemic" the context clearly implies that it has ended as it is past tense. I don't think there is any other way to read that though I imagine they might have done that on purpose just to create situations like this right here.
