Um......context, again. Oh my goodness. Hmm, well, why didnt trump go back to germany? Looks to me like he put together a campaign to take matters into his own hands, no? Agree with his policies or not he did become president so id say in his mind he is trying to fix things.

Sigh. This is like talking to a child.

You said:

What trump is essentially saying is, if you dont like this home, go back to your busted up home and fix that if yoy have all the answers.

I said:

Why didn't Trump go back to Germany or whatever and fix their issues when he complained heavily during Obama?

You said:

That's literally what the 4 women did. Like Trump, they complained about this country and so they ran for an office and won. Why is he telling them to leave when he did the same stuff?

Most Americans disagree with you. The tweets were offensive.

Lol@most americans. Care to share the numbers on that poll? You are being manipulated by the media. And not that it would matter, look at the bulk of society, its a mess. People are negative, complain about everything and post about it on social media or tweet nasty things. America is filled with hate filled people these days. Do you think id want my opinion to line with such enraged, negative fueled people, anyways. I know theres good people out there as well, but the vocal groups tend to be opinionated bloggers or social media youtubers trying to bank on other people, just like those women.

Not at all self ownage, but try not to assume so negatively.

Any large scale poll like that is flawed because theyre generalizing the public off numbers way less than the potential.

By asking roughly 1000 random people you should get a very good idea where/what the public opinion is on a subject.

Absolutely not. If i were ceo of a company and asked my employees to take a survey about things pertaining to the company--that would yeild accurate results.

Thatd be you. A poll that you claim covers the majority of america. How, might i ask? Lol.

So, would you jump off a building if i polled 1000 people and 900 of them said you should, and i labelled this poll, "America Answers, Zaria Should Jump Off a Building: Results are in 90% of america says yes!"

Make sense?

Oh. Right. You have no idea how polls works so instead you are posting pure BS.

Here is some quick and easy reading regards to statistics. I'll quote two small things from it

So a sample of just 1,600 people gives you a margin of error of 2.5 percent, which is pretty darn good for a poll.

Now, remember that the size of the entire population doesn't matter when you're measuring the accuracy of polls. You could have a nation of 250,000 people or 250 million and that won't affect how big your sample needs to be to come within your desired margin of error. The Math Gods just don't care.

Scientific National Opinion polling is general highly accurate. Ispsos is highly credible and accurate.

Please offer citation showing Ipsos's methodology is incorrect. I have even linked it for you in our previous post so you wouldn't have to find it.

What was the percentage, 68%? So 68% of every living person in america, right? Lmfao. Cmon now. This is the media for you. You CANNOT make a statement like "68% of Americans agree" unless you are literally asking every citizen. If you arent including everyone, the statement is false, by default. Any study will not negate that FACT.

No it's not. The bolded is racist, yes. But since he went on and said what he did, it's not racist.

That's why ALL the polls you love, all the media headlines ignore that portion.

You're giving me opinions, not facts.

For example, here are facts,

These are the findings of an Ipsos poll conducted between July 15-16, 2019 on behalf of USA Today. For this survey, a sample of roughly 1,005 adults age 18+ from the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii was interviewed online in English. The sample includes 392 Democrats, 412 Republicans, and 113 Independents.

The sample for this study was randomly drawn from Ipsos’ online panel (see link below for more info on “Access Panels and Recruitment”), partner online panel sources, and “river” sampling (see link below for more info on the Ipsos “Ampario Overview” sample method) and does not rely on a population frame in the traditional sense. Ipsos uses fixed sample targets, unique to each study, in drawing a sample. After a sample has been obtained from the Ipsos panel, Ipsos calibrates respondent characteristics to be representative of the U.S. Population using standard procedures such as raking-ratio adjustments. The source of these population targets is U.S. Census 2016 American Community Survey data. The sample drawn for this study reflects fixed sample targets on demographics. Post-hoc weights were made to the population characteristics on gender, age, race/ethnicity, region, and education.

Statistical margins of error are not applicable to online non-probability polls. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including, but not limited to coverage error and measurement error. Where figures do not sum to 100, this is due to the effects of rounding. The precision of Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points for all respondents. Ipsos calculates a design effect (DEFF) for each study based on the variation of the weights, following the formula of Kish (1965). This study had a credibility interval adjusted for design effect of the following (n=1,005, DEFF=1.5, adjusted Confidence Interval=+/-5.0 percentage points).

The poll also has a credibility interval plus or minus 5.6 percentage points for Democrats, plus or minus 5.5 percentage points for Republicans, and plus or minus 10.5 percentage points for Independents.

For more information about conducting research intended for public release or Ipsos’ online polling methodology, please visit our Public Opinion Polling and Communication page where you can download our brochure, see our public release protocol, or contact us.

You appear not to understand how scientific polling, or statistics in general, work.

What I meant was 68% +-3%, meaning the value is between 65% and 71%. If 3% was polled (how you reached this conclusion remains yet a mystery) that would be an extremely accurate poll, as it would mean roughly 9 810 000 people took the survey.

eh there are too many other factors... geographically speaking rural vs urban, culturally, age differences. Many polls seem to do a bad job at getting accurate grasp on the nation as a whole. too many times they dont take these things into account or on where they are contacting people. So many polls with a 3% margin of error are way off in reality than whats predicted. Many times by by as much as 10-30%.... i don't take polls very seriously any more

The math doesn't care. That would be failure in getting a representative group of the population. Not the number of people polled (if that is in the range 1000+++)

Does it? Don't confuse outcome of polls to predict outcome of elections with the election itself when you have gerrymandering and EC affecting it. Or that someone / group with a lot of money to spend has their opinion weighted more than others.

Polling done correctly is a very useful tool. As it is today, we got little reason to doubt the polling mechanisms being used. If you suspect one company doing these is inaccurate, it should be systematic inaccuracy. If Florida is never included, that will affect results.

If a poll is meant to cover more than a single issue, or you want to break it down to age etc, you will need N to be larger, otherwise the -+ % will become larger.

Are you trolling? Serious question.

You did not prove the Ipsos poll to be inaccurate by any measure. You provided 0 factual statements. You have absolutely 0 clue as to how scientific polling works.

You tried this same exact thing in the Gun Control thread when we linked 130+ studies. You literally said your posts with 0 citation nullified peer reviewed work.

Your opinion alone is not enough. You have to provide evidence. You can't just keep telling us our cited facts are false with opinions.

Its not an opinion. The polls and surveys are closer to being an opinion, fyi.

"68% of Americans think..."

*absolutely* false. In order to say that, ALL americans would have to be asked the question.

"Of the 100,000(random number) people polled, 68% of Americans think..."

That is more *honest*, but still 100 000 people in no way represents America as a whole. Sorry.

Sorry.

I would hardly say statistics are common sense. You need a quite a bit of mathematics under your belt to understand things like the margin of error depending inversely on the square root of the sample size.

You juxtaposed two statements, one conclusive of the other.

If that was not your intent, correct your syntax.

Rhetorical question.

And I took the opportunity to put you on the wall.

Positing a rhetorical question is not a guarantee that someone isn't going to reply. And when someone does the fact that the question was rhetorical does not alleviate you from their response.

@br0kenrabbit:

Only you front a question not relating to anything, so ill respond accordingly. Respect given, respect in return. If your form of communication is that of insult, then so be it. Your problem, not mine.

So what was the point of you entering the discussion?
