Political history as in previous voting patterns. And educational level as school and life experiences?

Genuinely curious where it all comes from at this point.

You got us. We abandoned the dude because he said something stupid. Perhaps on Twitter?

I don't even know what you're referring too here.

Since few seem to want to genuinely answer the question, I'll give it a (vicarious) attempt.

My uncle LOVES Trump. He has a high school education but went into the military because he had no other options and retired at ~40 with a pension and disability benefits for sleep apnea. He loved Trump, hates Democrats, and believes that pizzagate (and other conspiracies) are legit. His wife is the same on all counts. They are not religious in any meaningful way.

My father doesn't like Trump, but plans to vote for him again because he's not a Democrat. He doesn't believe most of the conspiracy theories, but he agrees with most of what Limbaugh and Hannity say. He has a college education in agriculture management, but is a retired Systems Specialist (with a mainframe concentration). My mother is the same on all counts aside from education (bachelor's degree in nursing) and occupation (nurse turned medical claims specialist). They are pretty deeply involved in their local church, and take their religion pretty seriously. They probably fit nicely into what's called the evangelical group by social/political scientists.

The program director of the facility at which I coach is also a big Trump supporter. He has a bachelor's degree in hospitality. I don't know if he believes the conspiracy theories, but he's unashamedly racist (if this facility wasn't rural, there's no way he'd still have his job). He hates religion and is openly militant to the idea of it.

I have quite a few Trump supporting pals, but you'd find them as varied as the examples above. Some are college educated, some are not. Some genuinely like him, but others only voted for him because he's not a Democrat. Some are religious (including a few young earth creationists) and others are agnostics/atheists.

No, he admitted to opposition research with a foreign state to effect the election. In order for it to be a conspiracy, you need a crime that was intended to be committed.

Didn't Trump jr. himself admit this like a year ago..and Trump for that matter, on live TV

@vl4d_l3nin: dude...are you high..

Opposition research with a foreign state to effect the election in it self is a crime. Any political aid from.a foreign to effect our election and government is a crime.

Dude, wake up and learn the law.

And Don Jr said he was only their about adoption laws.

@vl4d_l3nin: dont mean to jump into the convo but Section 30121 of Title 52 of federal campaign law, which deals with "contributions and donations by foreign nationals" .

"It is illegal for a foreign government or a foreign national to give something of value to a candidate or campaign," says Nathaniel Persily, an election law expert and professor at Stanford Law School.

"It is also illegal for a foreign national and a foreign government to spend money in connection with a federal election."

@rmiller365: Don;t mind at all, considering the dude who told me to learn the law doesn't seem to contributing anything about the matter.

"something of value" doesn't seem to apply here, since the meeting was a dud. There wasn't any kind of monetary exchange, nor were there any promises made. The only thing I can see that would be relevant is a campaign finance violation, if they could prove that jr. spent campaign money on the meeting.

@vl4d_l3nin: 18 U.S. Code § 371 - Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/371

provision of the Federal Election Campaign Act, Section 30121 of Title 52, broadly outlaws donations or other contributions of a “thing of value” by any foreigner in connection with a US election – or even an express or implied promise to take such action, directly or indirectly.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/52/30121

That's 2 laws

I already told you conspiracy isn't relevant, since there was no intent to commit a crime.

Someone already mentioned sec 30121 while you were busy looking. Refer to post #17 for my thoughts.

That's some interesting demographics there.

Yeah, the notion that Trump supporters are all high-school dropouts is outdated. I know a few Trump supporters and they are all intelligent and generally kind.

Not sure how it is with your people, but I feel all the Trump supporters I know have a contrarian streak; they vote for Trump to rebel against the system, but also because he is the safe alternative choice. These are people who would probably be moderates or independents, but are so pissed off at the two-party system, but too scared to "throw away" a vote on a third party, they decide to go with the crazy choice.

My best friend, well, I would not call him a Trump supporter but he voted for Trump. He is very smart, works with the local government as an engineer. He is very outspoken, has strong opinions. He is objectively racist in the fact that, growing up in an agricultural area, he has seen enough examples of Hispanics doing negative things that he stereotypes them; but he is not subjectively racist in that he actively hates minorities and is a dick about it. He'll say things like "Look, I bet this car with the aluminum sideskirts is driven by a Mexican" but he won't say "I hate Mexicans" because he doesn't actually hate Mexicans.

If it sounds like I'm making excuses for him, well, I am. I love the guy like a brother, and he is racist but he is not a bigot. His dad sure is, though, and he dislikes that about his dad.

TL;DR: I don't think a lot of people voted for Trump actually voted for Trump; I think they just voted against the other person.

@vl4d_l3nin: you're not getting it.

In trump's tweet he said his son went to the nearing with russia to get dirt on hilary.

That AUTOMATICALLY Makes It A crime. Because is was an attempt of conspiracy with an out side state.

Trump himself admitted that Don Jr went they to get dirt on hilary...it's already a crime even if the did not take the info.

Couldn't he just claim that an aide wrote that on his account though, since it was on twitter? I mean the word 'fabrication' was used, that's an 11 letter word!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watergate took 2 years to investigate and that case was about 10x more straightfoward and simple then this one.

Its a running problem in the legal system pretty much every where you go, this stuff takes a LOOOONG time

are you not aware that justice system take a long time? I thought most people knew that.

+ they are making deals with those who they would otherwise convict outright

I mean jesus man! when was manifort raided? and they are JUST NOW getting to court? this is normal

yes these legal things take an obscene amount of time and its always been a problem.

Choen is another example,, its going to be end of this year or maybe even next year before the Stormy Daniels civil case even gets re-looked at because the Feds case on Choen comes first and they havent even started the trial on that yet

not a trump supporter myself but a lot of my family is.

my mother is lifelong republican and as far as i can tell has voted gop down the line for decades. she is high school educated and worked as an office manager for a small business until recently. she is fairly religious having grown up catholic and sent her children to catholic schools. as she's gotten older to me it seems she's fallen head first into the fox news bullshit black hole. it is basically the only news she ever gets at this point so there is constant reinforcement of everything she's thought for years. she also doesn't appear to have good "bullshit radar" and believes a lot of the political garbage spread on facebook.

i don't think she's specifically a trump supporter in that she may have preferred a qualified candidate during the primaries however once trump was picked she was all in. no fucking way she'd cast a vote for killary ( yes, she believes hc had people murdered )

Ill read later

it might be someone else I am thinking of honesty.

bottom line is this:

1. these things take a long time even in the best of circumstances. investigations can go on for years

2. Benghazi investigation lasted 2 years and end up with ZERO indictments.

3. They are making deals with pretty much everyone they can. That also takes up more time. It also means the target is someone else

not a trump supporter myself but a lot of my family is.

my mother is lifelong republican and as far as i can tell has voted gop down the line for decades. she is high school educated and worked as an office manager for a small business until recently. she is fairly religious having grown up catholic and sent her children to catholic schools. as she's gotten older to me it seems she's fallen head first into the fox news bullshit black hole. it is basically the only news she ever gets at this point so there is constant reinforcement of everything she's thought for years. she also doesn't appear to have good "bullshit radar" and believes a lot of the political garbage spread on facebook.

i don't think she's specifically a trump supporter in that she may have preferred a qualified candidate during the primaries however once trump was picked she was all in. no fucking way she'd cast a vote for killary ( yes, she believes hc had people murdered )

most of my family are batshit crazy and believe these conspiracies as well and no I do not agree with people when they suggest to me that realtionship with your parents and family is more important, its not

i'm not going to let political disagreements get in the way of family. that is silly imo. she's a work in progress. she'll spout whatever crazy talk was on hannity the night before and i'll address it using facts.

I think its more important than family

@vl4d_l3nin: you're not getting it.

Holy shit a bunch of nonsense.

There was nothing illegal there, not even if Trump knew that his son went to a meeting with individuals to get "dirt" on a political opponent.

Link to the law that makes it illegal to get dirt on political opponents. Or wait there is none.

If he knew or didn´t is beside the point.

Trump still did not do anything illegal.

Which is why Mueller has already stated that he is no longer a suspect in any Russian collusion. And we have already had that debate so if you have forgot, go back a few months.
