President Trump in a testy interview with Fox News’s Chris Wallace downplayed recent surges in coronavirus cases, defended his stance on Confederate-named bases and sought to attack his fall opponent, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Trump disputed polls showing him trailing Biden, eviscerating his Democratic opponent as “not competent to be president” and controlled by the “radical” progressive wing of the party.

He also complained about his inability to hold rallies in some areas of the country due to the coronavirus, accusing “Democrat-run states” of not allowing him to do so.

Trump’s appearance on “Fox News Sunday” — his first Sunday morning show interview in more than a year — comes less than four months out from the election, as polls show the president in an uphill race against his competitor. A recent poll found 6 in 10 voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of the novel coronavirus, which has infected more than 3.7 million in the United States and taken more than 140,000 American lives, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Holy cow what a nut case! He seemed completely unhinged and demented in the interview.

At what point do they just call it quits and bar him from any public appearance? He's a total nutcase surrounded by sycophants. When he's faced with reality he explodes.

If Biden wins this November I worry what kinda of crazy shit Trump will do besides whine like a little bitch.

I'm worried. I wonder how many Trump believers there are out there. Not voters, not supporters...but people that actually believe Trump is the God-Emperor that America should have in office. The far left and the far right both have their share of rabble rousers, protesters both peaceful and violent, but historically it is the far right fundamentalists that commit actual acts of terror.

Trump has been a do-nothing for the most part, but the one change I've noticed is that the fringe, regressive elements of society have become emboldened. I'm worried Trump losing would cause a lot of these people to snap, to spur to violent action.

I'm sure the center of Stockton runs blue but all the area around it is red. San Joaquin has long been considered a Republican leaning swing county.
