Trump has brokered yet another peace deal between Israel and one of its Islamic neighbors, Sudan. Trump has also removed Sudan off the US list of state-sponsored terrorism after Sudan agreed to pay $335 million to US terrorism victims and families, helping the nation build and progress.

Ha! Of course he couldn't help himself:

Trump also took a dig at Joe Biden, his opponent in the November election saying: “Do you think Sleepy Joe could have made this deal, Bibi?”

“Uh… one thing I can tell you is we appreciate the help for peace from anyone in America,” Netanyahu replied.

Is Trump wrong though? Under Obama the middle east was absolutely on fire. Under Trump we have three historic peace deals and even convinced one state sponsor of terrorism responsible for a couple 1998 attacks on US embassies to pay reparations to the families, and make an effort towards building a more modern society.

Sudan is one of those 6 countries that were part of what the left claimed was a "Muslim ban."

They weren't really fighting though. Their relations had softened and both countries wanted to normalize relations. It's not like it took any work. Also now the Palestinians are upset.

I mean, the Afghanistan, Iraq wars really did destabilize the region, leading to the Arab spring, which led to civil wars in multiple countries, which gave groups like IS a chance to take hold. IS had this interesting effect of bringing groups together to fight a common enemy. By the time Trump came into office, IS had already peaked and was being pushed into a corner. Things are still not great in the region, but they have gotten better since the fall of IS.

In the other corner, Netanyahu had a big political defeat, and had to scrounge for months to put together a coalition in Israel. This has forced him to tone down much of his bravado.

So as to your question, is Trump wrong? I'm with Bibi on this one. Uuuuuuuuuh maybe, maybe not. It certainly would be easier to do now than 5 years ago though.

This will bite us or our allies in the ass.

In either case, these "peace deals" are nothing burgers. Typical Trump'ian advertising; very big, very flashy....Jews and Arabs in the same room! GASP! What a miracle worker!

Not.

But when you get down to the meat and potatoes of these deals, well....what's there? Trump essentially paid Sudan to make peace with Israel when there was not really any conflict to begin with. Yeah they talk shit, might hate eachother, but when was the last time a Sudanese rocket hit Israel? An Israeli commando unit retaliated against Sudan?

As with all Trump deals, it's nothing but hot air.

And what about the other deals?

The deal with UAE was all about selling them weapons. Yup. This misnamed "peace deal" might actually lead to more conflict and death than not because you don't buy warplanes and attack drones for fun.

Ultimately, what is this all about? Peace? If that were true, then Trump would be focusing on Palestine. Instead he has done nothing but antagonize them:

Over the last three years, Trump has cut off aid to the Palestinians, recognized contested Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, dropped the longstanding U.S. opposition to Israeli settlements and released a Mideast plan that overwhelmingly favors Israel.

The breakdown of the longstanding Arab consensus that recognition only be granted in return for territorial concessions has meanwhile left the Palestinians arguably more weak, isolated and demoralized than at any point in their history.

But rather than cowing Palestinian leaders into submission, those moves have only made them more defiant. President Mahmoud Abbas officially cut all ties to Israel and the U.S. in May and said the Palestinians would no longer be bound by any past agreements. The Palestinians have rejected the UAE and Bahrain deals as a betrayal of their cause and insist no other country has the right to negotiate on their behalf.

Link

Obviously not about peace as Palestine and Israel are for the most part the only ones really stirring any shit up.

This is all about profit. Enriching the Trump name. Planning for life after the presidency.

There was a lot of money thrown at ISIS. By our own government included. It's no coincidence ISIS seemingly collapsed overnight after the CIA program to arm and fund "Syrian rebels" was ended. Hillary Clinton and people within her group had taken credit for instigating the anti-government riots known as "Arab Spring" which actually resulted in worse Islamists taking control over many of those regions. The Obama/Clinton foreign policy had their fingerprints all over it. And her leaked emails proved that.

So yeah, there's no coincidence that the middle east practically exploded in violence during Obama's terms, and why it's been fairly calm since.
