Brian Kemp's campaign ad for governor of Georgia looks like it came straight out of GTA's humor.

Republicans basically running off of virtue signaling for the right. It's like watching Hillary pretending to be a progressive to the left.

Here's a bonus:

The absolute state of America. If you've got any absurd ads for this year's election, post 'em.

lol thes clowns trying to be "trumpish"

first of all, I don't think a governor has the legal authority to round up "illegals" and throw them on a bus.

what if i'm an illegal from israel? you going to bus me back?

Overheard an even worse one on my state's local radio show, where apparently, there's a GOP politician who advocates for what's basically genocide of the poor and disabled.

There's a term in my mind right now, but I can't say it because it's "why Trump won" or some crap.

Brian Kemp = law-abiding American citizen exercising his 2nd Amendment rights

Couldn't the kid in theory shoot the father then, if he felt his life was in danger? Seems like a dumb joke, to intimidate somebody with a weapon like that.

I know this one was staged, but it's not the first time I've heard of something like this.

@mandzilla: what I find odd is not only that the whole concept of threatening your daughter's boyfriend with a shotgun complely immoral and illegal therefore not something you should want to associate yourself with, but simply what on earth is it even supposed to represent?

"Vote for me because I'm not scared of shooting a kid for having different political views than me"

I wouldn't be surprised if there was an alternative take where he asks him who is favourite president is, then shoots him when he says Obama.

And not bending anyplace, just not really that "worked up" over some ads from a politician who does what he thinks will get him elected.

But i know you democrats love trying to point out how bad the other side is so that you can feel more secure about your own delusions.

I think it's more, "I'm intimidating you into treating my daughter right." Which is this dude's way of showing people he's just like his constituents who joke about and/or actually do the same thing.

I've seen this video shared by people who find that sort of thing funny multiple times.

It's not that hard when you don't take it seriously. That includes yourself, considering your initial response was "LOL".

The hammer of that gun was disengaged, which they tried to concealed with the cloth, but you can see for a split second in the beginning, making the gun no more threatening than a piece of piping.

@perfect_blue: You can laugh because it's not a big deal. Our liberal entertainment industry has been shoving guns in our faces for decades and we're not only desensitized, it's an expectation. The last movie you watched or game you played probably had several guns in it, because they are the ones that people want to see and play. Maybe in the fifties this would've been shocking, but these days, not so much. The faux "think of the children" pearl-clutching isn't going to fool anyone in 2018, especially young people themselves.

@vl4d_l3nin: Are any of those movies or games attempting to run for Senate? Entertainment is fiction, political campaigns are not. Your comparison is asinine and trying way, way too hard. Pathetic, really.

The fact of the matter is if a child did that you’d reprimand them and punish them for it. Yet you’re okay with your elected officials espousing values that it’s okay to threaten people with a rifle if they’re dating their daughter. What a joke.

I guess I'm just saying that it was more about getting people to laugh along with the candidate because if they're laughing they will find him relatable and if he's relatable then they may vote for him.

You missed the point about people wanting guns in their movies and games, so why not political ads? Why should Hollywood and Silicon Valley have a monopoly on good people with guns? Why can't a conservative politician use liberal entertainment techniques to get people to watch? It seems to be working.

And again, the shotgun (not rifle) had a disengaged hammer. It was just as safe as any movie set, if not more so.
