PBS Frontline just aired this really fascinating documentary on the rise of Vladimir Putin, how he came to view the United States as his enemy, and how Russia interfered in the election.

This is also a 2-part series, and the next part is set to air a few days from now. I'll provide a link below so you guys can watch part one and will update it when the next half comes out.

Putin seems to be Sauron of our world. Everything bad happens, it's his fault. It's always those damn Russians.

It´s funny how the red terror from the Mccarthy years have come back today. Guess it´s one of those things that circles around.

What's funny is that Russia has always been the red terror to the GOP, even 20+ years after the Cold War ended, but now conservative voters have a high opinion of Putin's politics, and our president has a really good Relationship with him as well.

1. Is a lot of the fear mongering over Putin bullshit? Of course. But you seriously haven't researched anything about Putin if you think it is all made up.

2. Comparing today to the anti communism terror doesn't even make sense on any level. I guess they were both geographically in the same location maybe? Huge stretch.

It's different for neighboring countries. In Norway the military have to intercept Russian military planes on a weekly basis. Far less than when the Soviet union existed, but the number of times has been increasing again in the last 10 years.

And the whole Crimea ordeal is still fresh in mind.

But hey, lets be honest here. It's just that Putin plays the perfect bad guy. The villain every villain wants to be. :P

And republicans still "fear" Russia now it´s just the democrats who is running around calling for witch hunts to be conducted.

You think we would hear one bit about all this if Clinton had won.

Despite the fact that she paid for the pee-report, had questionable dealings with the Uran deal and same Mueller was even involved.

Not saying Putin is not bad, but it´s not as bad as the democrats wants us to believe.

Ya i bet it must be different , but at the same time they also have major dealings with Russia, just think about the new gas pipeline that would pretty much bypass Ukraine which Merkel is a huge fan of.

But a funny story i remember . The swedish were listening for russian subs in the swedish Archipelago, and they thought for years there had been russian subs there until they got the tapes to a scientist who figured out that it was colonies of fish farting , which would make the same noise as the russian subs.

Yes, we would.

But she didn't win, so can we please stop talking about Clinton like she has any bearing at all on what's going down. Yeah she is slightly historically significant politically, and obviously has supporters still, but people can't deflect to her whenever Russia-Trump comes up because it's not relevant at all to what is going on now.

This shit is like being a kid and blaming what you did on your sibling two months ago.

Along with most of the intelligence community, I'm fairly certain Putin did interfere with the US elections. Be interesting to see what level of collusion there was from US sources. Also kind of scary that we had such attacks on social media. He does view us as a challenge to his authority both in Russia and its global reach.

However, our country has done some serious shady things, as well.
