Im no lawyer but don't clients and lawers have special circumstantial protections from raids? I believe that is the case. That being said, Muller must have some solid evidence to grant that warrant to raid a lawyer's office.

Heres to hoping this is the beginning of the end to the most dishonest, hateful, and biggoted POS in recent presidential history. I wonder what old Evangelists think of their god chosen leader now that hes guilty of trying to cover up cheating on his wife with a person who more or less gets paid to sleep with people. ??

they do not have privilege if there is a supena that suggests criminal activity is involved by the lawyer.

https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/the-crime-fraud-exception-the-attorney-client-privilege.html

I think its highly likely that Trump will be forced to answer questions under oath for the Stormy Daniel case before the Russia case

Deputy AG had to sign off along with magistrate judge. They must be part of the deep state too.

when was that?

"Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III informed President Trump’s attorneys last month that he is continuing to investigate the president but does not consider him a criminal target at this point, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

In private negotiations in early March about a possible presidential interview, Mueller described Trump as a subject of his investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Prosecutors view someone as a subject when that person has engaged in conduct that is under investigation but there is not sufficient evidence to bring charges."

Of course it does, you may want to read what it says.

This is just a spin from the Post , so despite Mueller not having enough to do what you all want and server Trump on a platter for impeachment, they leave enough room so that he will also be "guilty" in the eyes of the left.

sad that's what you have to fall back on, especially since it just makes you look silly

And the issue with the debate is on your end, since you made a claim without accurate info to back it up

What that really means is that Trump can be prooven to be a criminal in all aspects but its still up to congress and senate to impeach.

so congratulations! trump can be guilty of all accused and yet not punished.

that is true.

There was no reason for this raid. The Trump Administration has been complying with every request fror Muller. There were no election laws violated according to the former head of the election bureau. If it was about Russian collusion why hasn't Hillary and the DNC been raided. For all the intelligence on the left you show yourselves to be pretty stupid. Law means nothing to you only when it involves someone you disagree with does the law or lack there of matter. If Trump did something wrong he should suffer the for it. If the law is applied equally he will have a lot of company form the other side.

Either the law applies to everyone equally or it applies to no one. Some how that escapes your notice.

A court granting the authority to raid a lawyers office always comes with extremely strong evidence and justification.

usually around either A. strong suspicion that the lawyer is going to destroy evidence or B. they were asked to hand over documents but never did.

thing is, I think people know this, they just think the Left is so dumb that an excuse like what you just gave is actually going to sell.

lol

Fun fact: When everyone was covering this story, Fox News, particularly Tucker Carlson was talking about... Pandas. F***ing Pandas. There is also something very similar about it too, as pointed out by Stephen Colbert.

Yes, but they make the most sense.

Getting back to the raid, it violated a constitutional ruling by the Supreme Court in 1974 regarding Client Lawer confidentially. You, folks, hate Trump so much you are willing to give away your own rights. Remeber for whom the bell tolls it tolls for thee.

lol

too funny

it does not

according to the crime-fraud exception to the privilege, a client’s communication to her attorney isn’t privileged if she made it with the intention of committing or covering up a crime or fraud.

and being able to get a judges approval for something like a raid on another lawyer who happens to be representing the united states of american you can bet your ass that evidence is going to have to be extreemly strong

what ruling? The confidentiality is not absolute, and the US attorneys have procedures for getting warrants for such information. In addition, to receive the warrant they'd have had to show sufficient evidence to a judge that a search warrant for such information was necessary. And not everything in the lawyer's office and hotel are covered by privilege/confidentiality.

So because of hearing by Cohen and Trump's lawyers, arguing that certain communications may be covered by privilege, it has been revealed by the DOJ/prosecutors that Michael Cohen is under criminal investigation

President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen has been under criminal investigation for months, largely centering around his business dealings, federal prosecutors in New York said in court documents obtained by ABC News.

In response to Cohen's motion to restrain the evidence collected in Monday's raids of his home and office, the US attorney in New York asserted the raids were authorized by a federal judge to seek evidence of conduct "for which Cohen is under criminal investigation."The filing redacts what Cohen is under investigation for.The filing contains the first details released by the Justice Department on the searches, which covered Cohen's residence, hotel room, office, safety deposit boxes and electronic devices.

Cohen has been ordered to turn over a list of his clients by monday, this list would be public

U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood on Friday ordered attorneys for Cohen to hand over a list of Cohen’s law clients and proof of their relationship by 10 a.m. Monday, so she can decide whether materials seized from Cohen’s office by federal law enforcement agents last week should be protected by attorney-client privilege.

That list will be a public record, Wood said, because the identities of an attorney’s clients are not subject to attorney-client privilege unless the mere name itself would reveal the kind of advice sought or given.

But I guess you missed that Mueller no longer has an interest in Trump when it comes to a Russia link.

when was that?

"Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III informed President Trump’s attorneys last month that he is continuing to investigate the president but does not consider him a criminal target at this point, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

In private negotiations in early March about a possible presidential interview, Mueller described Trump as a subject of his investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Prosecutors view someone as a subject when that person has engaged in conduct that is under investigation but there is not sufficient evidence to bring charges."

As posted by the Washout Post.

that doesn't say he no longer has an interest

Of course it does, you may want to read what it says.

This is just a spin from the Post , so despite Mueller not having enough to do what you all want and server Trump on a platter for impeachment, they leave enough room so that he will also be "guilty" in the eyes of the left.

It doesn't say that Mueller has no longer an interest. What it does however say is

"Mueller described Trump as a subject of his investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. Prosecutors view someone as a subject when that person has engaged in conduct that is under investigation but there is not sufficient evidence to bring charges."

Which pretty much means that he sees him as a "suspect" or "Person of interest" but there aren't enough evidence to charge him with something so far into the investigation.

Nixon opened trade with China. Great president. Probably top 5 in our history. Besides, Millard Fillmore and Martin Van Buren, probably one of the best and most well known.

Looking at Trump's wording on some of these tweets are a little interesting.

@drlostrib: The rumor is that he has only one - Trump - and that this most recent demand stems from a prior failure to produce any professional relationships that would support his insistence of attorney/client privilege of the documents in question.

Yeah, that can be understood as confessing to obstruction of justice. I assume it isn't what he meant, but one way to interpret what he said.

Hannity was apparantly Cohens secret client. All of them are crooks I think.

LOL, i have to admire you guys on the left´s attempt.

Trump could tweet "walk in the park" and you would believe he admitted to being a Russian spy.

Would this be the place to bring up that Hannity was/is apparently one of Cohen's clients? Or does that deserve its own thread?

@PraetorianMan: I wouldn't mind it being it's own thread. I think the focus on that information is Hannity.

Cohen must have been feeding the Wikileaks information that Russia’s was sending him to Hannity. That way it could get released on Fox News for maximum effectiveness. That explains how Hannity managed to be his “client” without ever paying him.

I don´t think the President should do 1/10000000000000000000000 of what he does on Twitter.

But that does not remove the fact that its twitter and anyone trying to "catch" Trump are just running up the hill with a stone.

So... Doesn't matter if he accidentally reveals some secrets there as well then? I mean grammar is important.

Unless that person really is promoting...

The President's tweets also count as official White House and administration records, and have been cited numerous times in legal cases in the courts.
