Mark Espers Book (former Secretary of Defense): Trump wanted to start war in Mexico, shoot BLM protesters

So some interesting insights in this new Mark Esper book. Trump wanted to bomb Mexico, Stephen Miller wanted Trump to deploy a quarter of a million troops to the souther border, he wanted the military to get the decapitated head of the ISIS leader dipped in pigs blood as a warning to ISIS fighters, Trump wanted 10K military deployed in DC to combat BLM protesters, his idea like "why can't they just shoot them".

Apparently he was putting out fires left and right trying to stop Trump's White House staffers from further developing and executing such plans. Esper/Milley reached out to NORTHCOM telling them not to take any part in any of these planned events and that if they're asked to call him directly. After a discussion between Esper and Milley about Trump's Mexico plans, Milley discovered Trump's people were having Esper's team drafting plans on the matter behind his back and he put a stop to it. Curious whatever telling tidbits his book contains.

I have a feeling if there weren't adults in the room to keep Trump's worst impulses in check, we'd of had a Joffrey Lannister for a POTUS. We could still have one again for that matter.

Can't wait for usual suspects to damage control this.

Even CNN presented the original story as Trump musing about missiles against drug labs in Mexico...not that that is wise either, but spitballing what to do against drug lords is not totally insane.

Heard more juicy bits from the book. Trump believe China could produce hurricanes and send them at the US, and he talked about it so much the term used around the offices of the White House to describe it was "hurricane gun". He also flirted with the idea that nuking hurricanes could be a potential solution to them.

He also wanted to have the military reactivate retired members of the military so he could then court-martial them for being critical of Trump, including the Navy SEAL who led the mission that killed Bin Laden. And jeez, and to people think he's a free speech victim.

I don't know what's worse, Mark Esper being dumb enough to think anyone will actually believe half that crap.... or the people who actually do. Good grief.

Not sure about the war in Mexico, seems dumb, but I do remember looters being shot after Katrina. Seems an apt punishment now as then.
