The large swing state of Pennsylvania amidst the 6th largest city in the country, and one of the oldest cities in the country is in chaos after assaults, looting and rioting overnight. The national guard have been activated to assist local law enforcement.
Some interesting things I've noticed regarding the news cycle of this; looking at the home pages of the New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, etc. Seems to be very little interest in covering this.
NYT for example had a small link in their "other news" section with no photos, referred to the chaos as a "protest". No photo on the front page to accompany the small side headline.
CNN mentioned Philadelphia once, calling the chaos ... "protests continue." No photo on the front page to accompany the small side headline.
The Washington Post had one story under their "Race & Reckoning" section, top story calling the chaos "protests" - and finishing the headline with police/national guard being aggressive. No photo on the front page to accompany the small bottom headline.
Fox News had four stories on the Philadelphia rioting. One of the stories had an accompanying gif of the violence. CBS included it on their top headline with an accompanying photo. mention of Philadelphia from MSNBC, but they did include a top headline with large photo on "Trump supporters left stranded in freezing cold following Omaha rally."
