Wow....and a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. as of 47 reviews.

AOC will get a huge boost from this as the movie mostly makes her the main focus, and shows how she upset Crowley. It also shows her authenticity in a way that she has what the vast majority of politicians lack. The film makers struck gold with her, they got lucky.

But I think critics are overlooking Amy Vilela's story, as her's may have more of a policy impact of pushing Medicare For All. Until the very end with AOC, Vilela is the emotional core of the film.

Cori Bush will run again in 2020 for a rematch, she could get a boost too. Paula Jean is running in too conservative of a state, but her story shows the degradation of West Virginia.

Overall, an almost perfect film, do wish Cori was covered more and they showed the effects AOC had on races down the line which lead to Pressley, Tlaib, and Omar also knocking down the house.

AOC is charismatic and a tremendous public speaker.

She's also smoking hot.

She will only get better as she gets older.

5.5 on IMDB, 87 on MC but only 3.8/10 on users (MC). The reviews aren't helpful though, There one sided for both the positive reviews and negative. Users reviewing are either giving it 10/10 or 0/10 due to the political nature of the film. I don't listen to critics, so it would be nice to have some proper user reviews.

When evaluating films/series on IMDB I use the Top 1000 ratings, which is at 3.6 with 10 votes. That's just not enticing to me.

Ever thought that people not seeing the movie can vote and right wingers despise AOC?

Of course, which is why I go by the Top 1000 voters and not the "regular voters". Still, there is always the possibility that a persistent troll might pierce through and make it to the Top 1000 but then again no system perfect. My use of the Top 1000 goes back to at least a decade, it's not particular to this film and it has a decent record for weeding out the bad stuff on first impression.

I was trying to be nice, but 3.6 isn't merely bad, but pretty mediocre.

Like the ratings of The Last Jedi and Star Trek Discovery on Rotten Tomatoes do not actually capture the true reception of the film but a vocal minority. And I did not like Last Jedi very much, but I recognize I am in the minority.

AOC is very popular right now due in no small part to the way conservatives in the media have reacted to her and tried (to no avail) to discredit her. It seems like Netflix is trying to capture the moment and get people to tune in to their stuff.

No that's not it at all. I read quite a few. Theres always some people who give decent non bias review, that states whats wrong with it, whats right with it and similar movies. Then after reading 3 or 4 reviews like this it gives you a general idea of how the movies is. I only do this with movies/tv I know nothing about and if I'm undecided if I actually want to watch it or not.

No, I have and never will read reviews of anything.

Mainly because I know myself best and as the saying goes, how can you even know if you like/dislike something if you don´t try it?

I have played games that got 10 and hated it and I have played games that got 5-6 and loved them. which tells me to only count on myself, after all, I am the one playing it.

User Reviews are suspect to review bombing, especially something like this.

@Jacanuk: if I tried everything, then I wouldn't have time for everything. I'm not spending an 1 and 1/2 hours or longer if I'm not sure I'll even remotely like it in the beginning. I'm not ready for scores I'm reading to see what's it about, what's it's similar to and if there's any major flaws with it.

@jeezers: She hasn't accomplished anything yet? Her election alone was an accomplishment. Her move to put the Green New Deal before Congress has ignited a debate about climate change, even involving Republicans and pushed it globally. She has had bills or amendments killed and changed from her influence.

Her influence (along with Sanders) has moved the Overton window on several issues in this country. Her social media outsider presence also brings an unheard of amount of pressure into the House where now a freshmen congresswoman's words and actions carry weight. She also has an influence on most of the presidential candidates. She has been a total knockout committee performer, and got Cohen to testify that Trump committed tax and insurance fraud.

There is a reason why the right wing and the Dem establishment are scared of her. There is a reason why Trump doesn't try to insult her directly (like everyone else). Its not about her accomplishments in the short term, she plays the long game, and it has her opponents scared as she is skilled and complete enough as a politician to make it happen.

Next, democrats did not vote for the Green New Deal in the Senate (which would be Markey's bill there) because of a strategy to not let Mitch McConnell divide the Democrats. AOC told them to abstain and Markey abstained on his own bill. They didn't vote for it due to this and ignoring this makes your argument a bad faith one.

And now with Bernie, has proposed a bill to cap loan interest rates at 15%, which would be her second piece of legislation introduced.
