https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/live/2019/sep/24/trump-and-johnson-to-meet-amid-impeachment-and-brexit-woes-live

Now, more than 2/3 of the Democrats support an impeachment inquiry and now the Blue Dogs are on board.

It goes to show that the Squad and other progressive Dem's argument won out, the more you hold back impeachment, the more Trump is emboldened to violate the law, now the centrist resistance has crumbled. Swing district Dems now back an impeachment inquiry.

I am wonder if there will be another season of the reality show: President Trump.

Usually it's just the elections that are reality show, but with him winning, it's been on going ever since.

@horgen: You think the divisive politics are bad now, can you imagine 2021 Congressional session? Too early to buy bulk popcorn from Costco?

I’m totally okay with this.

It may not end the way most of you want it to end, but it’s going to be entertaining.

I feel safe in assuming based on the trepidation behind moving that if they're now well and truly getting underway, it's because they have some good shit to move on. Whether indictment in the Senate happens or not, we're going to be getting a lot of new stuff pulled out into the open showing off Trump is a big ol turd. Which is really all we can ask for.

Even if it doesn't result in President Pence when everything is said and done, if nothing else it's going to be taxpayer-funded opposition research for the 2020 election. We'll see what happens.

@Vaasman: Trumps not worried about Ukraine, Biden and his son are worried about whats going on with Ukraine. Luckily progressives dont like Biden or Trump, this will hurt Biden more than Trump, the media diddnt cover the scandal with Bidens son and Ukraine, the NYT broke the story in May but MSM did not focus on it, watch... Trump will release the transcript of what was said once they push forward for impeachment.

Trump wants the left to push impeachment, the dems are loosing thier minds, they arent focusing on policy, solving problems, or new ideas, just Trump, this is great for Trump, especially when this falls flatter than the mueller hearing did, the smell of desperation is thick in the air and it is very entertaining. Is trump a clueless moron or a criminal mastermind, according to the left hes both lol

Yet they are still more popular as is their policy. Over 10-12 million more votes in 2018 (most in history) and higher polling policy on most major issues.

Yes they are, which is why 2018 happened. Mitch isn't doing anything about those very popular bills they are passing though.

@zaryia: 2018 happened the way it did because Trumps base doesnt come out for the GOP. They come out for Trump

and though the left took the house they still lost more seats in the Senate.

Not a cult, its actually the opposite, many trump supporters don't even consider themselves republicans. There were Bernie supporters disgusted by the DNC who voted Trump in 2016, Libertarians are going to vote trump, Moderates will vote Trump, Independents will vote Trump.

Basically anyone who doesn't like the prog left moving the party extremely far to the left. Also nobody "loves" the DNC or GOP. The cults are the establishment right and left. Bernie was cheated and you know it, party before country right.

If that's what you call a blue wave ... nice

Proof in the puddin, your gonna win YUGEEE come 2020, early congratulations from me.

I mean, can you see Democrats opening an impeachment inquiry and not recommending Articles of Impeachment? It would be the dreaded "Trump will claim exoneration" but done so by Democrats themselves.

Can you imagine Pelosi bringing to the floor Articles of Impeachment and getting voted down?

I see talk of impeachment, and I think of this:

Depends where his approval is at by the end of it all. If he's still above, I'll say, 35% by the end of it, they'll shrug their shoulder and say "whoo boy this is all bad but forgive and forget yall look at that 'great' economy! Let the election decide it." If he hits the breakpoint though I guarantee they're jumping ship to save as much face as they can before the voters demolish them. He's mostly outlived his useful idiot status anyway.

You can quote me that we'll watch Fox and the GOP pretend they never liked him and he was a secret democrat the whole time. But perhaps now, maybe we'll get to see it before he's even gone?

But it could devastate the GOP's chances to keep the Senate and that may actually what the Dems are planning on, certainly AOC, who brought up that prospect.

All in now for the dems. Nancy has got to get the holdouts on board to get an impeachment in the House. Once you throw your hat in for impeachment it's impeach or do not impeach. Having proceedings and not getting enough dems on board to get it passed in the House would be an instant win for Trump.

As for my opinion, it's about time. Trump already had impeachable actions under his belt with obstruction. We owe it to ourselves to make the morally sound choice of doing everything we can to hold him accountable, and ourselves in the process. I'm not expecting him to be removed via impeachment by any means but I want every elected representative to take a stand that will be theirs to own forever.

It sounds like Trump was doing his whole "mob boss" lingo here meaning "It's not exactly legal what I'm talking about so I wont say exactly what I want in specifics, but I expect that you will get the gist of what I'm saying."

The democrats, specifically Nancy Pelosi here, seems to have jumped too quickly on the impeachment deal. I've been catching up on the news this morning as I have been on vacation since Saturday and got back last night, and my understanding is that Pelosi announced this without having seen the transcript of the phone call.

Nancy Pelosi let people like AOC pressure her into jumping the gun and it isn't nearly as bad as they claimed it would be. As for Biden, if Trump sent FBI agents over there to investigate the alleged corruption I don't see you being any less outraged for some reason.

regarding the transcript. it's just another case of partisans see what they want to see.

expect reactions to be something along the lines of:

democrats: this is CLEAR evidence the president is a tyrant criminal and must be destroyed!

republicans: this is CLEAR evidence that NOTHING improper occurred!

Well the president is not supposed to run the Justice Department and he should do his job. If there were a reason to investigate Biden then the Justice Department can surely do so. But from what I've read there isn't anything there to start with. trump is just hoping to find something....and no...that is not a good reason to investigate. Nonetheless...……….no president should EVER encourage foreign governments to meddle in the US. Period. Shame you can't see that.

They wanted the transcript turned over but no one would. Nonetheless I don't think this is the only thing involved in the whistleblower complaint.

During the call, Zelensky brings up his desire for U.S. military aid.

Then Trump says, "I would like you to do us a favor though . . ." and segues into his push for investigations.

During the call, Zelensky brings up his desire for U.S. military aid.

Then Trump says, "I would like you to do us a favor though . . ." and segues into his push for investigations.

Yep. And that should give us pause...….

Biden literally bragged on tape that he wouldn't give Ukraine a billion dollars in aid unless they fired a prosecutor that was investigating a company his son was working for while he was vice president, but that is what gives you pause?
