@sonic91: he's an idiot who just wants to cut taxes. Why would you cut taxes when the deficit is 1 trillion and the debt is 20 trillion. He's just another leech in disguise puppet of the rich pretending to be a libertarian.

A real libertarian would have a problem with patent laws, IP, contract laws and most other government regulations. He doesn't seem to talk about that.

Rand Paul was my favorite last election, hes who i really wanted, but we ended up up with clinton and trump. Could of been worse, could have been a rhino shill like Jeb or Mitt, even tho id rather take Rand than trump, trumps not as bad as the neo cons or neo libs.

I love how rand focuses on government spending and foreign aid, we are throwing money at everything but ourselves. Some argue his views are isolationist. but i prefer it over being directly in other countries affairs constantly and draining our money into them.

I think Trump is just fine. Rand was missing something for me.

@blaznwiipspman1: Everything you said about him is true, though I still have some respect for Rand Paul for having a more consistent ideology than many in Washington.

@judaspete: Republicans are irresponsible from a fiscal perspective. Should we really respect them just because they are consistent about it?

@Serraph105: Respect may be too strong a word, but he's more fiscally responsible than the rest of his party. For example, he was the only Republican to vote against the $100 billion increase the military got this year. His record isn't great, but it's better than his peers.

Rand Paul, a person who tried to convince you he's a paleo-conservative like his father, but ends up playing ball like the rest of the GOP. I don't know what's worse, a true paleo-conservative or one who pretends to be. He's disappointed so many 'End the Fed' groupies that they've flocked to Alex Jones at this point.
