Not surprising really. They probably haven't been able to spend much time together in the last year, and she may have been uncomfortable with the intense publicity that comes with being married to Donald Trump's son. This will be tough on their five kids.

First thing that came to mind when this happened is "no way". Surely the Trump men in the family don't get married without an ironclad prenup to keep their wives hostage under. Their divorce is amiable, which is already making me suspicious. She's also hired a criminal lawyer, so, my guess...

I think she's insulating their assets. Given the nature of Trump's alleged crimes, that he was involved in years of money laundering overseas ill-gotten gains through real estate deals. This puts both his money and his properties under the threat of civil asset forfeiture. So, as a contingency, I think it's likely this divorce could be used to insulate their assets from seizure if she divorces him. If this investigation moves to leave him penniless, maybe Trump Jr hopes "oh look they got back together", and surprise-surprise he has wealth again, and maybe that's how she played along to get him to agree to an amiable divorce. My guess though, is once she's free of that shitshow family, she ain't going back, especially if she's the last one with anything to lose.

Good. She can take his money and jump ship before the arrests come in.
