"A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

Does anyone here support these comments or the actions they propose? Should they be universally condemned, or are we entertaining this possibility?

Rep Eric Swalwell questioned how the party's members could continue to refer to themselves as "Constitutional conservatives" if they didn't condemn the comments.

Good point. One cannot claim to be/support both. Which is it?

I think you forgot the source in your OP.

This is definately an interesting story, but would love to read/hear more.

Edit: Found a CNN source

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/12/03/politics/trump-constitution-truth-social/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twCNN&utm_content=2022-12-03T23%3A30%3A39&utm_term=link

The Primary Source is Truth Social where it was said, and since I am european I cannot access it. I am curious with people's response to Trump's anti-constitutional statement. Because if it is positive enough, I would share this,

"So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause."

Republican Party has been silent on this. I would hazard that they are okay with it.

Yeah this is the part where Trumpers pretend they weren't Trumpers.

Look, I think the Constitution needs a massive overhaul in many respects, but I'll be damned if I think we should wholesale get rid of it.

But as for Trump (and let's be honest, the GOP will continue to go along with it for fear of alienating a good amount of their base) and getting rid of it in the fashion he suggests....no. Just no.

The Constitution is the foundation for the US. Do foundations need repairs from time to time? Of course. But you don't remove the foundation entirely.

Since I cannot access Trump's "Tweet" myself, this is the closest I have to a primary source.

@Maroxad: I did forget the link, thank you. I fixed it, I was working off the BBC source I've now linked.

I'm guessing a lot of Republicans would be outraged by this almost blasphemous statement. Like if Hilary said the same thing, she'd receive a million death threats.

Keen to hear how Eoten and others defend it. I'm guessing we might have to wait a while though - they've got to get their opinions from Fox News first.

I wonder what he finds objectionable in the constitution or otherwise, he didn't even specify anything or reasoning to back it up.

He did, he's objecting to the fact that he lost the election. He wants to get rid of, "all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution," and reinstall him as president.

He wants to be installed as a dictator.

He's laying the groundwork for a future president of either party to actually do this.

@fenriz275: It's amazing how fast this party went from, "don't say we're authoritarian," to an attempted overthrow of the last election and now a call to scrap the constitution.

Every time I read something like this, it gives me pleasure.

Let this pathetic loser dwell in his grievance politics and call for the destruction of the founding document of our nation for nothing more than to serve his own ego. He can do this all he wants to satiate and try to salvage it, but the broader electorate aren't interested in serving the interests of Trumps' vanity. They're over and sick and tired of hearing about the fraud delusion and the sycophants who cling to it, as the midterms evidenced. They are only interested in what betters their own lot. And as long as Trump continues to focus of an election he lost TWO YEARS AGO, he's going to continue to push voters away to other candidates who actually are focused on the future, not the past.

Not that he'd have a chance anyway, but you can't run, nor sustain, a campaign predicated upon grievance. Nobody give a shit about Trump's loss except him, yet Trump cannot help himself. Great to see, I hope he keeps this up.

I've been saying for years that Trump is extemely jealous of his buddies Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-Un. He looks at their regimes and whines that he can't declare himself dictator for life.

but i never choose a side. i always stood in the middle.

i always chatted on different subs on reddit on politics.

i been banned from every right sub. for not doing...

oh dear leader ....garbage.

not falling for fake sources.

This isn't news, just news that he directly said it, his attitude toward the idea was cemented during his attempted violent coup 23 months ago.

They say it's not a cult, but, I mean.....how else are such actions to be described?
